    im so sad i needed that thing so bad cus tbh anything would be better than my heap i mean im still using pci for graphics and no thats not pci-e just plane old lame pci and the most ram i can have is 2 gigs

    I hope the malfunctioning PC from ibuypower.com is a fluke.  It would be very poor advertising to send a prize that doesn't work.  Perhaps something happened during shipping.



    I once had a computer shipped that was falty.  Come to find out the video card got jostled during shipping and I just had to fiddle with it.  What seems to be the problem with yours?

    I once had a similar problem, retrospectic.  Probably 10 years ago when my family got a Gateway, we drug it out of the box, set it up, and got no display on the monitor.  Checked all the cables, but everything was correct.  We finally ended up calling their support, and they had the answer pretty quickly (probably because they received calls about the issue frequently).  It turned out that we had to open the case and remove a random screw which magically fixed everything.



    That is the first and only time I've seen a rogue screw (actually in place, not rolling around freely) cause any problems.

Funny you should mention that.  We called the tech help guy and he tried to tell us there was a screw that caused the problem.  Come to find out he had no idea what he was talking about and my vid card was just loose.  No screw.

    I will say that the computer I recieved from winning the contest showed up today and is completely non-functional. I won't go into the details, but it isn't pretty and I would never actually spend my own money buying a single product from them ever.

    I remember when I got my ibuypower computer I had to manually connect a few things inside the computer...Not sure if that's your problem, but if you hear anything rattling around then that's it...And from what I remember they do this on purpose to make sure that it doesn't hurt itself while in transit..

    Ibuypower is fine...I'm sure just like every other computer company they have had some problems, but overall I've found them to be great...

    Umm read the statement again..he MAY be disqualified...it's still anyone's game at this point...



    Personally, like the last one (broken or not), I'd really like to win this just so i don't have to upgrade my computer with the money I planned to use to pay down my student loans



    And I'm also a big enough techie that even if it doesn't work I can scavenge the parts and still save a mint rebuilding

    I bought an IBuyPower rig in Feb. and had no problems. Tigerbot is right, the comps dont come "fully" built; they leave some connections loose so they wont get damaged in shipping. Mine came with a nice manual to show what needs connected. Other than the looooooooong wait for them to build it, Ive had no complaints.

    I enter every contest for fun because it is like free gambling and it helps MMORPG.com so it is a win win situation.



    I do need a new comp badly so me and my brother can play the latest games together like AoC and EQ2 on less than low settings. That is my main reason I am dancing around chanting funky things in my room hoping to win!!

    Be cool to people, and try and stay cool that way you never have to regret making someone feel bad. Don't take what ya got granted because some people never get to feel happy. We get to play these great MMOs and surf a good site. Be thankful for what ya got and next time ya feel down imagine a fat sea otter waddling with a pillow and a night cap. Bam! smiles!

    No computer generated random number is really random.  Perhaps the system has a fatal flaw.  Either way I'm making an account named Drecos.  This is getting silly.
