I've been wondering about which country has the best internet service as of now. I know the U.S truly sucks in high speed internet so I figured it'd be nice to compare our specifications and cost
(Try to add your taxes and convert in US dollars)
Canada - (Videotron service)
Cost = $40/Month
Type = Cable Modem
Speed = D/L - 750 KB (or 6 Mb)
U/L - 100 KB (or 0.8 Mb)

They have no choice but to us words like "up to". Its a shared bandwidth service so there will always be ups and downs depending on how many people are using the service in your area.

US (Ohio)- Time Warner (Roadrunner)
Cost = $50/month
Type = Cable
Speed = 4.3 Megs per second
I did it twice more and got 8.5 and 8.6. I'm sure it varies much more that usually. It lucky timing, I think. I don't think many people would even need anything that good to do most personal things or even most jobs. It's a luxury that probably never gets used to it's full potential. My husband works from home and uses several computers together and things going in and out and up and down 24/7 and still that's probably way more than we need.
This was average:
High was 19... low was 12
20Mb down, .75Mb up
£37 a month.
