Producer DeadMeat dropped off a short Producer's Note to let us know more about Chapter 6 and the plans for Chapter 7:

I am happy to let folks know that Chapter 6 will be going live tomorrow morning during the normal maintenance window. We are all very excited by this chapter and have been quite pleased by the feedback we have received from the folks on the Test Centers. I want to especially thank the many players who have taken the time to really run the new systems and content through its paces and for giving us such detailed, real-world playtesting that we could not have received from the QA team alone. That has really helped us to get everything solid for this launch.
We will be spending the next few weeks doing some polish and bug fixing to address some high priority issues facing the game right now before we begin working on Chapter 7. There is also the 30th anniversary celebrations starting this week and the house pack-up event starting June 5th to look forward to as well. Many of the devs will be attending the Star Wars Celebration Summit this weekend in San Francisco and we look forward to meeting the folks that are coming this year (I know you are all dying to know what Blix looks like in real life). We will start discussing more specifics about Chapter 7 after we polish up some of the design planning for the key features. There are lots of great things on the horizon for SWG, but for now please get ready to enjoy the new chapter!

    You're joking right? The part about the end of the year was a joke right?  I have played the trial several times since the NGE launched, including currently, and I still have not seen one thing that is done well enough to bring me back.  I don't see them doing anything that will make it what it was or good enough to draw the number of people away from other games that you seem to think they are going to get.  Guess when you put all of your eggs in the SWG:NGE basket, you have to keep telling yourself that huh?

    While I think it is headed in the right direction for sure, I don't see it ever becoming a hugely successful MMO. The hype for the game has passed. People usually gravitate to the new games, and SWG just isn't new anymore. I think a lot of people who left the game have never looked back. It would take a huge marketing campaign to get SWG back onto the radar of most players again.



    I'm not saying anything about the quality of the game, just that to get that many people into SWG again, you've got to get the word out more than they are doing now.

    Speaking from my point of view, I am enjoying the game once again. I just cant put my finger on it yet. I will probably be crucified by the other vets, but who cares, I just want to play a game that is fun with s Star Wars history.

    I was very much a SOE hater in the days and left before CU was implemented. Anyways, that is all history now and given the new SWG a chance. With so many other MMOs coming out, I find myself coming back to SWG after so many years.

    But having a blast with new friends and some old friends on the game once again  Despite my CL

    I'm also having a good time playing so I agree that the game is once again appearing on the map of the MMORPG's.

    It wont steal the WoW population, but there are people like me that is strating to get a little tired of elves and dwarfes, so LoTRo is not an option. SWG is.

    I joined the game again and have to say I'm enjoying myself as well.

    I wasn't around when Pre CU or Pre NGE, I've only been playing for 3 months, and Chapter 6 made the best MMO i ever played way way better! I love BM, and the way they made mobs harder. I use to solo alot just because there was no point in having a group, but now I'm having fun with groups! :). I've tried many many games, from LoTR, AO, WoW, and so on, and SWG as so much to do, and the quest have great storylines and are fun.  I'm level 40, and have never touched the Mission terminals. So many quest to do! You just need to find them. The only thing I have heard of that I wish changed about the game is the way Jedi's use to be. How it was rare to see one beofe, now you have all these Jedis running around, it's not even cool anymore.  Besides that, this game is the funnest game, with so much depth. I don't know why people hate the Combat system, way better then click, and wait.....click, and wait....Or Click, micro, wait.... Heal....wait..... Micro.... heal.... dead......haha I like having to pay attenion to what's going on.

    nice to see some positive comments for a change, given that after NGE alot of the negitivity was probly well deserved, but after all the SWG dev's have done over the last few months the positive comments are really well deserved too...

    As long as they don't flat our lie to all of us..again. Then swg may stand a good chance. But their team is on a skeleton crew.  At the SW 30th celebration there were no banners for SWG. There were no tables for SWG. There was nothing except a room full of people which pretty much told the devs don't blow it anymore and please listen to your fans.



    Chapter 6  is a new hope.
