One year and four months was how long I played SB. This game has numerous bugs and has amazing lag. After playing over a year I can't believe they have not fixed many of the problems and exploits that exist. PvP is great if you don't mind running around for 30 minutes to an hour to find people and you should usually have a group it's not wise to solo kill unless your killing lowbies. Also, the wars are insanely laggy if you have 50 people or more. The CCR or game managers are rude and have poor customer service skills. The main reason I played for so long was due to the community I know and because of teamspeak. Looking back I should have played DAOC or something that generally receives good reviews. I played on one of the highest populated servers (Mourning) and during prime time there was about 900 people. Two months ago there was about 1200 people and the population seems to be melting down as we move to summer. As read in a previous post, I agree that half of the 900 are duel boxing accounts. I had five accounts but my SB days are over and I recommend people stay away from this game. Too many bugs, too much lag, poor service, and tyranical game managers have ruined the game. There was no change in sight, so I quit. Thank you SB players for the good times but enough is enough.

Sounds like your biggest problem is your internet connection but yes there is still a lag issue and it is getting handled. When did you quit? I believe the lag has definitely been minimized (in comparison to what it was in the past, especially while Wolf Pack Studios was in charge of it). If you'd continue to follow ShadowBane for a bit longer as far as just checking the main page we'll say once a month till December you'll notice some very large changes if only because since UbiSoft has taken sole ownership of the game (as far as development is concerned) a lot has changed. And CCRs are actually very nice with how they handle their job, I've gotten in touch with them on a few occasions and they've been very helpful or very frank about whatever was happening at that time. I don't know about you but if someone catches you exploiting, I don't think they're supposed to sit back and give you free game time.
Ehh... if anything it sounds like you're one of the guys that got their account banished for one or more reasons. I've heard of many getting their accounts banished, however, when you intentionally try to piss them off it does happen. These are real people and rather you're on credit or paying they aren't there to take crap off of you.

1200 falling to 900 people over the last two months playing during prime time. Draw your own conclusions.
You played for a year and 4 months so you obviously loved the game
So now that you aren't playing you want everyone to leave and not play it just because you aren't anymore
LOL
You'd be suprised at how many people are actually returning to the game. Online numbers don't tell the whole story.
Other than that, there's some game changes coming down the piple that will help address lag.

Well, given the choice between Shadowbane and WoW ... I'll stick with Shadowbane. Now that they've actually patched the War into World of Warcraft (and by that I mean theres restricted PvP) I'd consider WoW. Just not my type of game. I don't like the 3 foot long ears, the cartoony landscape, or the community of retarded 12 year olds whom Blizzard has never left down1111!!11 (Uhh, theres a reason the founders of Blizzard all quit). That being said, its probably will be a highly polished game which have its appeal. What it looks like to me, is DAoC done right.
Waiting on Darkfall and Trials of Ascension myself. Neither are close to realease, so that gives Ubi a year to get their shit together. And, to be honest, since Ubi has boughten out WP things have gotten better. Nothing is happening over night, but atleast now progress is being made. Without an almost complete redesign of the engine I can't see Shadowbane ever becoming an exceptional game. The thing is, it fills a niche market which currently has no competitors.
I quit SB back in feb for L2 beta.... needless to say Im happy to give UBI my money atm. Ive had 1 sb.exe in the past 3 weeks, the new zone is great, new discs are neat. Little laggy, but not extremely bad unless 1k+ ppl and server havin spazams.
I plan on stickin around at least till my friends pre-paid is up in october, we have way too much fun. 4 months ago i woulda told everyone to stay away from SB, I think they have finally taken a good step in the right direction with the game
I played SB when it first came out for quite a while, managed to get myself to a decently high lvl, but the lag problem became just too much of a headache. I am considering returning to the game, honestly, would anyone say its a good game still, or is it too late in the story for people to rejoin?
Plenty of guilds are recruiting on the mourning server. Vengeance is ok, but sorta hard to find a good guild there.

I don't know why so many people complain about lag in SB. I barely ever experienced any connection lag in my one month of playing, nore did I get one single SB.exe error that people talk about. At first I had some minor FPS problems that irritated me--with such simple, dated graphics I would expect flawless performance with my Athlon XP 2.4 Ghz and Radeon 8500. Drops in FPS when I was nearing a town was very frustrating. On one popular SB forum, I think it was SB Catacombs, at the top there was a sticky on how to configure SB so that you had the best performance. The adjustments made almost no difference except that it had that weird feeling to it that you get when you put a game on 16-bit, which I thought suited the game's graphics quite well. After that I got no lag ever except for maybe the first 5 seconds after coming out of the tunnel from loading or being summoned etc.
If more people played SB, or if I could find a tightly knit guild of people who play as much as I do ( 6 hours a day ), I would totally be playing it right now.

lol Skael I currently play 18 hours a day. Unfortunately by the end of next week I need to finally cut it down to 10 hours but it's been a fun month of playing 18 hours a day, each day.
LOL! What do you do all day? Farm?
See I would love to wake up at 9 AM and play Shadowbane till 10 PM nonstop, but you just can't do that. I don't have an r7 char to farm with, and there isn't always a group around if you want to get PLed by a Druid or go level up at the mummies or whatever. If you want to go roll groups or PK people or something, unless you have a group of people and a friend/someone conveniently there to summon you, you can't do anything.
