Do you think Darkfall will be released?

The reason I ask is because it's been in development for almost as long as there have been MMORPGs. And yet there are so many gamers who want to play it that if the devs could just get it finished, it seems like it would make a lot of money. That's a pretty good incentive to get it done. It does look like some progress has been made recently, but who knows how much more needs to be done.

IMO they took to long. That game will be dwarfed by AoC, WoW, Aion, or Fury...Nostradamus said so.
Hard to tell really but I look at it this way, as long as something comes out as far as updates like pics or video then there is always the chance.
They may be taking longer to get the game out but if you look at what they are trying to implement in this game then to me its totally acceptable that it has taken so long.

It won't be released this year, I can tell you that.
But maybe, just maybe, the company will pull themselves together and release it towards christmas of 2008.
They are self-publishing it.
This is the one game that has no limitations, F&family beta has already begun.
It's a proven fact that releasing a game only leads to failure. Once a game is released the players have the freedom to nitpick and complain until years later when it inevitably fails just like AC2. If you truly want this game to succeed you must pressure the devs to keep it in development forever.
The most important part of reading is reading between the lines.

Hmm, i would call Lord of the Rings Online's launch bug free. First of all because its being heralded by the media as a game that launched bug free, secondly because i have been playing it since launch and havent witnessed any bugs so far yet.

Lotro still have the Vista, 8800 hi rez texture bug (memory leak), other then that the chapter 11 bug with Tom not coming every time in the instance (only happened to me one time) but after a talk to a GM he said that it will be fixed in a patch (or have been now).
At this point, there's no way it wouldn't be released, even if the game had more holes than Swiss cheese they'd still push it out to get some money from it.
The game already has a mass following too so I can't see another MMO, present or future drastically effecting its sales.
It is a great concept and should have been released years ago. I just hope that it isn't just rushed out the
door next year without a long beta test.
...especially a Developer who's been working on a game for 5-6 years without publisher support?

No it probably wont be released, and if it is released it will be by the time AoC is out, but if its before that it will be crushed by Fury.
IMO they took to long. That game will be dwarfed by AoC, WoW, Aion, or Fury...Nostradamus said so. Well.. noone knows when, or if it ever will release. There is no offical release date, there is even no offical beta date.
However, i personally expect it will release anywhere in the future(maybe in 1 year, or in 2-3 years), the question then is, will they have all the announced features, and will it be as good as a lot of people expect? Noone really knows, and noone will know at least until Beta.
But, if it will release with all announced features, and as good as it looks concept-wise, no other competitor in development will be like Darkfall, and it will have their community(maybe not millions, but enough), and from my standpoint it will be by far better then any other game out there.. Sandbox, OpenPvP, RealEconomy, EmpireBuilding and Warfare, FPSish Combat and so on.. no other MMO in Development offers all this features.. damn, there isnt even a Sandbox Game in development.
It is quite simple, when i dream of a perfect mmo, Darkfall is as neas as no other mmo i have heard about.. the only question is, will it release?.. and can it really be as good as i expect?
But however... i will play other mmos, will have my fun with a lot of other things, and if it release i will test it, and will see it, and maybe, just maybe a dream come true. And if not.. i lost nothing, maybe the hope, that a game like it, will ever release..

Darkfall really does look like a good game, but I wouldn't get all excited over it, you will end up getting disappointed and then we will have to listen to the fanboys whining over and over about how Darkfall failed etc
If they didn't say that there would be 10k users on a server with a seamless world, then maybe it wouldn't seem like the game is gonna fall flat on its face.
Anyway until the game releases and we actually get to play it theres no point judging it now, who knows maybe they really do have a game that is capable of all they listed and servers with that many users. It just sounds far to good to be true.

Either way, it seems this game might be released next year, and by then it would be dwarfed by upcoming MMO's.
I've been waiting for a MMO like Darkfall too, but it doesn't look like its going to release soon. So i am going to stick to FFXI and keep waiting for AoC, Fury, or WAR.
