What MMORPG to choose?

The thing that I'm stuck on is: Will I play WoW now and keep playing that, because that's what I'm thinking of. Only thing that I don't like is that Warhammer Online is coming out soon, and most say that it wil become better then WoW. Allthough I love WoW, when everybody keeps saying such thing you're starting to believe it.

It seems like there are loads of people waiting on Age of Conan, saying it will become even better then Warhammer Online. (actually you can't say which one is better, both haven't came out yet and it are 2 very different games) What I heard about Age of Conan is that it's gonna be single player too, but I think that's not something for a real MMORPG. What do you guys think about this?

Last thing I am stuck on. Diablo 3 will be coming out soon, and if it's a MMORPG I'm definitely gonna play it, because the Diablo series are my favorite of all time. Some saying it will come out within half a year, so that makes me wondering. Should I start with another MMORPG if I'm gonna have to throw it away for Diablo anyway? It will be a waste of time.

Now: What should I choose!??!?!?

Wait for WAR looks like the best one to come. Might take some time tho just find a F2P game to keep you happy so you dont pay for a game you are going to stop soon. Then again its all up to you really!

Oh and I am sure there will be no Diablo 3 MMO...

BioWare MMO!

Until they release it (they still haven't even announce the subject or the title)...

You can play either CoV (best MMO on the market) or try the following MMO as they hit the shelves, they may all be interest...or not.

- WAR

-Tabula Rasa

- Aion

- Stargate

- HJ

Anyway, I will head back to CoV.

As to explaining why a MMO is better, I already must have explain that 20 times at least, browsing the CoV forums would be easier then the general if you are interested into my reasons as to why it is the best MMO on the market...and by far.

Even though I personally don't play WoW anymore and have no desire to, I think its a good game. Myself, I'm not playing an MMO at the moment and I am waiting for Warhammer to come out before investing my time and money in one. If you want to play a PvE game with some PvP mixed into it, then go for WoW. Most people have had quite a bit of fun with WoW(no matter what they tell you) and I bet you will to. However if you are thinking of trying out other games like Warhammer or AoC. Wait until they are released, its just not worth spending the time and money on a game thats out when in a few months down the road you are just going to be playing a different one.

And where did you hear about a Diablo 3? No one outside of Blizz knows anything about it, or if its even being made. All the things you heard about D3 are just rumors and you shouldn't pay any attention to it. If/When Blizz makes an announcement about a D3, you will know. Thats the kind of news that spreads extreamly quickly. Just like Starcraft 2 that was just announced a couple weeks ago, I'm sure almost every person in the world who plays games has heard about the big news, even if they arn't into RTS games.

Ok, so a quick recap. If you are curious about AoC or WAR, do the research and see if they seem like the type of game you would want to play. You are going to have to get all the information you can and make your descision from that. If you decide to try one of them out, then stear clear of WoW until you do and decide weather you are going to stick with the game or not. If you decide neither of them really interest you, then go for WoW.

Try the free trials for the current MMOs, see which one fits your style. One thing to note, if you are an old schooler from the AC1, EQ1, UO (pre-expansions), and etc MMOs, you'll find most MMOs today to be very boring as there's not enough diversity in equipment, monsters, dungeons, quests, or environments to make them worth noting beyond, "oh gee, better GFX, nice."

I think MMOs are in a similar rutt that MUDs are experiencing anymore. Plenty of IP, but not enough decent developers at the preliminary to make the games original enough in gameplay. Basically, lots of content but no diversity of play.

I went throrugh simular issues for about a year, and finally settled in with Asheron's call lol.. yeah i'm playing that again after a 4 year break and having a blast.. CoH is great for casual gamers, but you don't get that "loot feeling" so that kinda sucks..

but yeah try free trials till you find one you like.. or a free one like dungeon runners.. untill something better comes out.. i've concluded the Next gen mmo's i prolly won't get into due to unreal system req's..... buy a xbox 360 and enjoy that and play an old mmo :P

I heard you play alone till lvl 20, as an attempt to deal with RMTs. I can't confirm this, though.

Do NOT wait for these games to be released! The wait is simply too long, imo. There are lots of MMOs with free trials, go and check them out. The game list on this web site is excellent, use it.

Blizzard has announced that they're working on a MMORPG which is better then WoW in every way. They're also working on 2 single/multi player games. One of the 3 will be Diablo. I am thinking the MMO will be Diablo, and most do, because that will be the big deal!

Why 5 years? Definitely not! They stopped producing Diablo 3 in 2001, because it wasn't good enough. They restarted developing it. So if it would become a MMORPG, it would have been worked on for 6 years now! (it would have if it becomes a single/multi player game too) They announced Starcraft 2 too now, and they also finished developing it. It will probably take a year at utmost.

Also, thanks for all the replies! I'll consider doing the thing that reaches the most votes in some weeks. Keep the votes coming!

Seriously tho bud.. i dind't read the part where you say you 'enjoy wow'.

Let me give you some advice.. play what you enjoy.. otherwise you maybe just be a mmo hopper like me and get no real enjoyment out of any o fthem...

stick with WoW.. trust me.. i was in your shoes once..now i "brag" that i have played asheron's call for 2 weeks!

I beg of you.. stick with what you like.. if something better comes out, keep in mind it may mean a "new" pc...

Warhammer maybe early 2008... you've got abit of time there.

Diablo 3 coming out soon too?! your concept of time is... wierd. I don't expect Diablo 3, if they're even making it, to be out anytime within the next 12 months.

I didn't say Diablo 3 would come out in 12 months. I said that Diablo 3 would come out in about 12 months from the time it gets announced.

I'm also adding FFXI to the poll, because I think that's a cool MMORPG too.

Oh yes. About WoW. If there are better MMORPG's coming out, isn't it better to wait for one of them? I don't mind buying a new PC every now and then. Don't want to spend to much money though.

Play Maple Story and Ghost Online ^^ or wait for Gods and Heroes. That game looks very interesting. You can also try Silkroad Online. That game isn't bad. Deffinetly give Kwon Ho a go. It's beyond amazing!

I'm now thinking of playing WoW after school like everybody is saying I should. Can anybody convince me to do something else?

@DarkEssence .. Those are not really my kind of games, they don't really attract me, I like a little bit of realism in a game.

if you want to play something good for less money and you dont plan on staying with the game i would suggest

guild wars just becuse the no monthly fee is really nice it makes a good secondary game to play for when you

get burnt out on your primary game.

I wouldn't suggest FFXI as it takes a long time to play and get into it. City of Heroes or City of Villains will be fun for a month or two or maybe longer for casual playing and may last long enough to get you close to a beta of WAR or Age of Conan. My suggestion and what i'm doing is play sword of the new world. www.swordofthenewworld.com which is about to enter Open Beta in the next couple weeks and will be cheap(only 8.95$ a month, and free to download and try to level 20). It is a fun addicting game with fun PvP and some very original elements. This should keep you busy until the next great title. I would highly suggest not going back to WoW as it will probably make you sad and depressed. ^^
