Halo + Starship Troopers + Starcraft = Tabula Rasa?

For some reason this game is cool but I feel like it is grabbing from a lot of other existing ideas. You be the judge.

    I actually really like the look of the game. The video made me like it even more. I swear I saw robocop in there though. Oh well, while I don't know if it will succeed or not, I do say that it looks like it could have very good potential. I'll try it out as soon as I have a chance. Maybe I'll have some fun with it.

    I've played many games, and the ones that I play change weekly. Currently I am very interested in Gunbound, Poker, and Kwon Ho once more. I am thinking of returning to Maple Story and Ghost Online.

    I sorta like this game...but at the same time....I don't like the game. It's doesn't look very original from my opinion and 2 cents. What's the deal with NCsoft anyways....releasing free games now.

    It's not another elves and sorcery fantasy MMO, so it's got one up on most of the other games out there. The gameplay looked pretty typical of NCsoft to me, if that's good or bad I'm not sure, but I've got a good idea what to expect if I get to try beta.



    Being mostly a socializer, for me it will come down to character customization, social areas and non combat activities. NCsoft has a good history of working with players in this regard. I haven't heard much yet that interests me, but that doesn't mean it won't be in there. Here's to hoping!

    ve been following it regualary, and i think it will not bomb, if it does, it dosent deserve it. it looks great, they have a great class system where you go up different trees and save your chars at certain points, i think its great idea, but is it enough to win the MMO community? its going to come down to 2 things, advertising and timing, when they release it is going to be critical... they dont want to release near AOC and other mmos... lets see if they go for the before or after option.. will be interesting to watch

    Personally i cant wait for this game to come out,  I loved anarchy online, and another sci-fi/action mmorpg would be right up my alley.  I get tired of using a bow or sword in 99% of the games i play.  I just hope they do it extremely well and dont publish a half finished product that people will be bored with in an hour.

    I love most ncsoft games(hate L2, boring grindfest crap. own it and 6 of their others.)  They make good games, just dont always get the playerbase they need to become big hits.  I really hope they do a lot with the marketing of this game because id love to see it do well, especially if it has some cool sci-fi pvp system. and space ships, and and..lasers pew pew

    Sweet, I do love a topic that takes a decent game, throws in a crappy movie and another good game and then combines them to show that a new game is sci-fi as well.



    The title could be more accurate though.  I mean...you can replace Halo with any FPS (in every sense of that sentence), replace Starship Troopers with...well...a decent movie where humans are fighting an alien race and replace Starcraft with-actually...what the heck is Starcraft in there for?



    Grabbing from a lot of other places?  Yeah...that's what every game does, hell, that's what every story does.  Ever read/seen any book about a jury?  It's all Twelve Angry Men, no matter what.  Pointing out that sci-fi borrows from other sci-fi is like pointing out that, I don't know, fantasy borrows from other fantasy.



    Let's not kid ourselves and pretend there has been any truly groundbreaking ideas in either genre since Tolkien or Asimov (or Herbert for sci-fi, if you prefer that comparison.

    To me if feels more like SWG + AO = TR. Actually this whole thing is starting to feel like algrbra But honestly. I hope this game works if for no other reason than it's not more elves and goblins! I'll probably play it for a month once it's released to see if I like it. Hopefully it will feel more alive than AO did.

    What's with you people saying it's going to fail?  Have you even played it?



    I'm in beta I would love to stay stuff about it but I can't so there.
