My only gripes are that I'll need to buy a joystick to fly planes properly and that the Allies are so weak. I joined Axis got into a brigade and am feeling my way through the game, I like the fact that shooting a guy in the chest with a rifle kills him 99% of the time. I've decided to wait until I have a joystick before trying out the planes again, I just can't bomb targets or dogfight properly without one.

The big problem is that the Allies are under-manned and disorganised, I tried playing Allies today and the difference was shocking to say the least. There are barely any missions for me to go on, and as a noob I can't create my own missions. Also there are much fewer brigades and I found the Allies were less helpful. When I had a question in Axis someone would always give a clear answer, in Allies I'd get ignored. After a while I thought "OK **** you I'm gonna go back to Axis".

If they added an expansion opening an eastern front and making the USSR a playable contry it might help solve some problems. I'm sure many Axis players would like to play soviet and it may bring in more players as a whole to the game. But if the Allies got more players and more organised it'd make the game a hell of alot more fun.

I haven't found anything to be technically wrong with the game that I'd consider gamebreaking. A few bugs but nothing compared to some MMOs I've played. The community is a very mature one, certainly by MMO standards and have been extremely helpful well Axis are. The Aliies didn't seemed to realise I existed, despite capturing a cp from the Germans single handed!

Overall I'm having fun and may well sub when the trail period is over, I'm glad I found this game well worth the money to try it out.

It's the end of the map too which always makes the teams a lot worse.   When there's a map reset you'll get a better feel for the teams.   Not logging on the game at all or switching sides can happen for both sides and it's  self encouraging.  You don 't log in, fewer guys on your team, others don't log in as there are few people etc.  Some semi switch side just to play around with the other sides equipment for a change... which is one of the reasons why you see such poor/stupid gameplay at the end  Lack of caring plus a bunch of folks just playing around.

But the ends of a map have always been dissappointing that way. You finally get to fight in cities you rarely see (you see the middle ma[ cities at the start all the time) but just blow past them, quite often while you're not even playing,  Then it's back to the start with all the middle map cities again.  Sad as some of the SE cities have the most amazing terrain to battle in, great for tanks.

Hopefully the current map wasn't a bust (but it didn't look good) or poor teams can carry over to the next map and you won't get a good start.... but will still be better than what you have know.

That pretty much sums up what the losing side of a campaign will experience - low numbers and disorganization.   Infact youll never have the numbers advantage unless youre winning, makes sense right, since people choose to play or not,  the winning side would be more motivated to play and would have more people logging in more often.  Having played on each  side both on the winning and losing end its exactly the same experience.

Problem is the map is over 2 weeks before it actually ends, meaning one side already knows they're going to loose the map well before its over which leaves for crap gameplay the last weeks or so of a map until its finished.

Best thing to do is switch sides and get it over with as quickly as possible and hopefully CRS will do something about these long drawn out torture maps that no one likes except the CRS employee who wants to see the record broke or longest campaign.  Consider the end of the map as server down for maintenance and come back when its finished.

Well I hope the new campaign starts soon, as when I've been in battles with balanced forces it's alot of fun. Unbalanced is just crap no matter which side you play, we took a British town a couple of days ago in about 30 mins and it was pretty boring. However yesterday we attacked Dunkerque and we were doing well, then all of a sudden the Allies grew some balls and fought back. The Axis fell back to a neighbouring town and the Allies proceeded to attack and take it swiftly. however we counter attack and gained it back resulting in a stale mate.

Now that was a hell of alot of fun, winning or losing doesn't matter to me it's all about a good tough bloody fight until one side's resources are depleted and they're forced to fall back. I'm praying the new campaign starts soon.

Im an Allied High commander so I have to stay allied And Even I agree with the low numbers and dis organization. We were doing Moderate with this campaign and not doing crappy at all untill the germans abused a Game flaw and took breskens from vlissingen and took all those towns. thats when it all went to hell and people stopped playing and switched sides and Ever since then weve been hearing problems about organization. All I can Do Is tune out all the whining players sometimes and PLAY! because half the time the allied playerbase is on the forums complaining about our lack of numbers and leadership when THEY SHOULD BE FIGHTING! Nobody takes orders on the allied side either unless they are other high commanders. Unlike axis who follow orders in a pinch. And sorry we couldnt be of any help, half the allies(the players who are constantly multitasking) like myself dont have the help channel tuned so we cant help you on that channel. Try going on a mission and using Target chat alot of people will help you there(usualy). Good luck and Happy shooting kraught.

Well the Allies seem to have the best Air force in my opinion, and if they only put out some ground forces they'd be able to push the Axis back with their Voodoo bombs! Today we crushed an Allied FB because of weak infantry and armour, the Allied planes were bombing the crap out of our AB (I died several times from high altitude bombing and strafing runs). If they brought equal forces on to the field they might not have won but would've depleted our supplys for sure preventing an attack on the town.

As for helping new players I was on a mission channel, and even took a CP single handed but was ignored when asking questions. It was like no-one gave a crap and I just got frustrated, Axis are more organised because they're quick to address questions and help new players. As a new player I have alot of questions and will stick with the side that wants to help me out, Allies need to help newbies otherwise they'll go to Axis where they get help. If an Axis/Allied squad are willing to help me I'll help them by following their orders.

Many Axis believe the Allies have better equipment but don't bitch about it, they just get on with the fighting. Although alot of people bitch when those Allied bombs always seem to hit on target everytime, whenever I hear the whistle of a high altitude bomb dropping I groan and wait for my immenant death!

Is 3CD still around?  I remember joining up with them (allied) when I started WWIIOL, they were a more mature squad literally as they prefered older players.. had some amazing teamwork.  I remember Edward siiting in the old sniper trees with a good view and running the whole assault from there for hours.   Pity lots of that died out with MSPs and the radar.  You actually had much more teamwork in the old days (hehe, sound like an old man... 'well in my days...')

Good luck on the new map, hopefully the last map problems won't carry over.  And yeah, you'll get used to the bombs.  Air units probably have one of the biggest advantages of any unit game mechanics wise (let alone the RL advantages).  Their HE actually works, better visability VS the concealing growth you do get to hide under, dawn dusk issue etc.  Even worse if you're playing an ATG (which was my fav unit) or anything pushed.  If it gets too much a stint playing AAA always helps ;), that's a bit of an art too though and you need a good comp with a good framerate for that.

Yeah Third Canadain divison is still around I see a 3cd tag every once and awhile here and there. Also to avoid bombs stay out of obvious bomb targets like army bases and Fb's since those are like the only thing High alt drops aim for usualy anyways.

Cool, running with 3CD gave me some of the best FPS gaming I've ever had.

Agricola, more on the bombs, if you do go AAA two big things.

Bomb HE doesn't penetrate walls so if you can stick ourself between two close buildings you can be invulnerable to anything other than a direct hit, my personal fav.

Tree cover hurts more than it helps very often especially with multi air (why I like buildings), your tracers can easily be seen and the air will then just attack you from your blind side (whichever side you have the trees hiding you).  As AAA has zero defense (not dug in or surrounded by sandbags) and you can't unman the gun to take cover, bombing blind or even cannon HE/MG blind will probably get you once you've been spotted.  I've you're engaging just a lone plane then cover is more useful, wait until they pass and shoot in the ass, never fire when he's banking/scouting otherwise you'll be spotted and he'll setup on your blind side if you have one.  Best to AAA with a buddy or a squad who's doing a AAA special mission, those can rock.

hehe, talking about this stuff almost make me feel like joining back up :P
