My question is do I have to get accepted into pre-beta, or is just everyone able to download the client from somewhere and play? (Asking because not sure if pre-beta and the actual beta are the same thing) thanks.
I sent off a PM to Alex a few days ago with the same question.
Alex informed me that the pre-Beta and Beta are one in the same. Those in the pre-beta will be accepted in to the beta when it goes live. So to answer your question more precisely, yes you need to sign up for the pre-beta before you can download the client and play, but being in the pre-beta will give you access to the beta when it's time.
