So, I am just getting interested in this game, and I read about these two classes. Has any information been revealed about them, beyond the little profile the have on the website? The idea of a caster class built for melee is intriguing to me.
There are somewhat more indepth individual character profiles in the exclusives section of the community site. I believe both Lich and HoX have already been covered
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. Hemingway
Yeah, I've read through those. I wasn't sure if any footage existed of one in action.
I'm very curious about them because they're unlike most classes I've ever played in such games. I'm wondering how the mechanics will work. Will the transformation be temporary, so that such a class can wade in peridocially during a fight but withdraw when the effect wears off, or if they will simply be fighter/mage hybrids that look terrifying.
Well, there was a gameplay vid including an HoX about 4-5 months ago, but he didn't display any significant abilities aside from that of a standard melee fighter. He did cast one relatively unimpressive (at least unimpressive compared to the whole demon transformation thing) spell, that was apparently a minor self buff.

The Age of Conan wiki provides information and screenshots and footage on things when they're availiable.
I'm not sure of the URL right off the top of my head but doing an Age of Conan search on Wikipedia links it with it's links at the bottom of the entry.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.

Lich = No Skeleton
From Class Preview
"At Higher levels the Lich gets access to powerful and ancient magics like ‘Flesh of the Wight’ and ‘Acheronian Abomination’, the latter allows the Lich to literally take the physical form of an ancient Acheronian warrior. Twisting in pain that might cripple those not used to dealing in such foul arts, the Lich’s skin becomes re-enforced with the thick leathery, puss ridden hide of these powerful undead incarnations, his convulsing face masked by the ornately carved and distinctive helms that mark the source of these evil beings.
The Lich’s muscles and bones are infused with the ancient strength and malice that is breed by centuries of undead anguish and can then be unleashed upon their foes"
Your right on the HoX though:
"In battle, the Herald transforms into a demon, preferring to melee opponents and feel the enemy's flesh tear rather than rely on spells, although they retain a powerful arsenal of spells to call upon as needed. With their frenzied appearance and blood soaked muscles rippling with demonic strength the Herald becomes one of the most fearsome sights on the battlefield.
While many of the Herald’s abilities concentrate on strengthening themselves and their allies they can also call upon the primordial forces of fire and brimstone, hewn from the demonic depths, to smite their foes."

The classes in AoC look really interesting and unique.

Herald takes demon form and melee. Add some nukes.
