I Miss COH

SputniikSputniik Member Posts: 31

I was in the COH beta. At the time I didn't realize the greatness of COH and within days I was complaining about the lack of loot and the general lack of 'depth'. Needless to say, I didn't not end up buying it.

Instead I bought LineageII, which is probably the complete opposite of COH in many aspects. L2 is all about long term goals, and it's all about the end game. COH is good for quick, short fun with nearly nothing that could be deemed as 'end game'.

But I have to admit, I find myself deeply missing how much fun combat was in COH. Sure it got repetitive sometimes but think how much more fast-paced and dynamic it is compared to other MMOs out there. It's colourful. It's exciting. And the mobs talk.

If you could afford it, I think mixing up an end-game (aka mega-grind) MMO like L2 or DAOC with quicker fun like COH would be an awesome combo.

Before CoH came out, I was discussing what I'd like to see in an MMORPG with a friend. Tired of EQ, in which you start out as a weakling who has to run away from rats and can't do anything interesting until the mid to upper levels, I wanted a game that gave you heroic abilities at the start and allowed those abilities to grow with your character while also giving you access to a wider variety of abilities that would make you more versatile. And lo and behold, CoH does just that!

I really like that from Day One I get to feel "super". ::::19::

I currently play CoH and Horizons, they complament each other very well.  Horizons is mostly a crafting game and CoH is all grinding.  When I get tired of doing 1 I just switch to the other game for a while, it take the tedium out of both games.
