Porting??

in Everquest II

First off, let me say this is all based from a screenshot found at:

Next, I don't know what this means, but I had heard that teleporting would not initially be up.  Does this mean that there is sort of a non-personal gate spell or something?  Just wondering if anyone had seen something about this...

    I watched a video that someone made while at E3 that showed someone doing a walkthru of the game and this person got ported to several different locations.  This could have just been something set up for E3 showing only and was removed afterwards.  but, I did see it in game via the video.

    Moogard stated on the forums that there is NO porting available in the game other then actual portals in some dungeons... no traditional ports like EQ. What you see in the screenshot is acouple of guys poking fun during the test.

    Yeah thats what I had heard also, this just kind of tripped me up a bit and made me do a double take.  I pray porting isn't implimented for quite a while.  I lwant to relive the first few months of EQ with EQ2, where there were no twinks, no jumping across the continent, and where you don't take anything from granted...

    One of the New videos at gamespy, shows a Ratonga asking "any of you mages have a port?"

    I think that they have allowed a porting system just for pre-beta. To help the tests cover the ground quickly. I be leave they have also allowed level jumping. So that high end content will have had ppl going over it as well. Just speculation though.

    Well in the original EQ Mages couldn't port only Wizards and Druids... so I think its something we don't know about, maybe succor? or evac?
