Now, why are you wearing a tea cozy on yer head?
id definitely recommend this game. i was a bit apphrensive myself during beta, cause i found it not really moving me.however i bought it just mainly because i was getting tired of Eq2, and eve and figured id was bored and wanting to find something to do. bought it and after several levels, and after skorgrims tomb, and even more so with the chapter 1-11 instance especially chapter 11 had me hooked.
even if its a game you want to play til something that comes along, its worth a try. im up to lvl 16 now, got some good gear, moving into book II, chapter 12 black riders Designs which should prove interesting.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

All low level armor looks like crap. Its always mismatching/low detailed. How it should be IMO anyways. When you get higher you get nicer looking armor.
Most isn't too bad, and you can dye it to match (if you can afford the dye...) They need to shoot the guy that designed the hats/helmets though... LotRO has some of the fugliest head wear of any MMO. The cloth hats are like the guy had a bunch of tea cosies for inspiration lol.

ROFL, great spirit there u sound like a true "free people hater there" u migth like monsterplay, u can kill a lot of "freeps" if the server you choose have a decent lvl 40-50 population. Like i said before it' sjust a matter of time.
And yes the game looks great indeed. And ther's tons of landscapes that deserves a screenie as well but hell nohing like being "there" to actually admire the world beauty.

Oh and about the armor being ugly.... man try instaling the client from the dvd's if u havent, and research the AH a lil bit, u'll be amazed on the beauty of the full sets around, it's like those we're pulled from the mind of tolkien himself. But again... for the armor to look good u have to turn the texture detail more than high.
But alot of the gear is ugly. And with many classes, specially the non heavy armor users you got the problem that they pretty much look the same the entire game. The gear your wear at lvl 50 will look pretty much the same as the gear you had at lvl 10. A tiny bit flashier, but the overall look is the same. This is a tun off for me. Not much to look forward too But this is a usual problem for games with a "classic" look. Cloth and "lesser" armor users are neglected.
I do like that you can dye your gear. But dye is insanely overpriced atm, atleast on my server.
I don't like the fact that the game is taking the armor sets approach, I fear that everyone will look the same at lvl 50 in a few months. People already look quite the same.
Anyway, to stay on topic, here is how my Minstrel looks like atm:
Quite pleased with his looks atm, but I have spent alot of silver to make him look like this.
it's well dressed, but hell hobbits are ugly!!!!!
Congrats on your outfit!! very nice indeed. BTW if you're over windfola i do sell not overpriced dyes. And only charge a tiny fee if the mats are provided.

At higher levels, all the models look pretty damn good. Those wierd Man proportions don't look so wierd with the bulkier shoulderpads you get later on, etc. Point in case to me would be the screenshots in this thread:
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=56183
Hope that the address from PCMODEM, clears all the (models look like crap) issue. Just turn the texture detail up, and voila!
Oh and do some armor research to match the style and dye it to make a perfect match!
Ps. Ther's nothing wrong with (in-game) hobbitses i just don't like them...iiiiaak hairy feets. ROFL.
