Elephant Entertainment has announced a pre-sell campaign for Sword of the New World. Players who reserve their copy of the game will receive 10000 Vis and an exclusive character available only in the retail version of the game.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 6, 2007 - As part of its extensive marketing program for the U.S. retail release of Sword of the New World: Granado Espada, a highly acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) video game, Elephant Entertainment, a new publishing company specializing in bringing innovative game and entertainment content to the retail marketplace, today announced that a nationwide pre-sell campaign is currently underway.
Savvy players who reserve their copy of the retail version of the game will not only receive exclusive access to the game's beta program, but 10,000 Vis in their account. "Vis" is the in-game currency for Sword of the New World, and enables players to purchase various items needed for success. As a result, all pre-sell participants will have an automatic advantage over non-participants when they enter the game.
"We've created a great pre-sell program for retailers that not only allows fans to play Sword of the New World before it launches, but gives them a great start in the new world by providing compelling in game assets," said Wim Stocks, CEO and president of Elephant Entertainment. "Sword of the New World is evolutionary in its design as it is the first of its kind to include the Multi Character Control system where players control three characters simultaneously. Add in gorgeous graphics and dynamic gameplay and you'll know why the rest of the world is in love with the game."
Consumers who purchase the retail version of Sword of the New World: Granado Espada will also receive an exclusive character which is only available in retail versions of the game.
Winner of the 2006 Grand Award for Best Game in Korea, Sword of the New World is a fantasy MMORPG whose story is modeled after Europe's exploration of the New World. Already a highly regarded game within the online community, Sword of the New World is the first MMORPG to successfully adapt the Multi-Control Character system - the ability to control three characters simultaneously - resulting in a fast-moving game filled with strategic daring and intense combat, beautiful artistry and baroque-inspired architecture and fashion, large-scale maps and breathtaking graphics.
Sword of the New World: Granado Espada for the PC is scheduled to ship in mid-July for a suggested retail price of $19.99.

This will be a major bot fest because K2 does nothing to control them even though they changed the in game bot function.
You watch, all the good areas for leveling in will be packed with bots. Too bad, the game had some potential.
all mmo's will suffer from some lvl of bots, currency seller, lvling services.
it's all about your state of mind. if you let it bother you won't be able to enjoy what the game has to offer.
i just wish IMC Games or Elephant Entertainment would remember the aus gaming market

Not really. With a good design, even if the game would be infested with bots, it wouldn't hinder a player gaming experience in the least. With a poor design, the bots would take your camps and ruin your experience.

I dunno about this game.
I will wait and see what peoples have to say about it. A game that give pre-order bonuses...smell bad to me. If the reviews and what the peoples say is neat, I might play it. Controlling 3 toons is kinda neat...

Another thing is K2's version is in the US. So big deal right? Wrong. Most of the sGE events are centered around SG time zones. Not the American time zones. I believe there is a 13 hour difference. (Not honestly sure though) There is lag. While IAH has done a pretty decent job with their servers the major cities have loads of lag. So much that me and my friends can't go through one place without waiting...10-20 mins. The US version is supposed to be very different from the SG version. Honestly though you get to try the game for free for the first 20 levels. Why not see for yourself for open beta?
BTW: I don't think either of the two companies involved will go p2p during beta.
The graphics are solid and beautifully rendered. The game engine runs smoothly and without hitches.
Things I dont like.
Characters look the same. Bad in game chat system. Inability to link items in chat. Quests are no different than any other MMO.
Things I like.
The family system is really cool. I like being able to mix and match different family members that I level to form teams specific to what I want to do. (you have three family members with you when your out adventuring) Combat can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. Finding things to easy? Then go to the next higher area. The game also gives you the ability to put your toons on "hunt" and park them somewhere... they will engage any mobs that come into range. It is possible to go afk for extended periods especially at the lower lvls but things can easily go bad and you can come back to find your family dead and scattered. This is easier when you have a good squad put together and camp and area together. (note: this is just one thing that you can do.)
Graphics: 8 (world) character models for players toons are all the same

The game is free to play now on the asian servers.. it's def worth a try
Nice review, thanks. I started playing the beta tonight but didn't get very far. I got kicked off the server after a while and there was a message asking if I knew extended gaming periods was bad for my health or something like that lol!! I know China has this thing to keep kids from playing till they go brain dead but in beta? Plus this isn't just a Chinese version it's open to the US. Does that happen much in beta? If so, I can't imagine they get much testing done. It was funny though

Singapore suits me as it is much closer to my timezone (being an Aussie). I guess for US players it might make a difference.
I am trying the SG version, and will also try the US, just to see what differences there are. The 2 games being licensed from the same place, I dont see how the game could be very different, but am willing to wait and see

There are actually two different companies handling the game. For the SG version, IAH, and for the NA Version, K2N. They each want to satisfy their marketing crowd and even though it's licensed from the same place they are still allowed to make changes. It's basically the same game with some major changes and some minor. So far though I have heard that the in-game patrol is limited to five minutes and their are more outfits in the beginning. I'm sure however that there is more but that has just been through the grapevine. I was talking to NA players when making that post as my reasons appeal more to them.
