PvP will Make or break this game!

there is currently a distinct lack of mmos that have good pvp. The most popular game is undoubtedly WoW which has shockingly poor PvP that attracts few.

If Huxley were to generate a PvP system that was balanced, Competitive and constant then several thousand players would be attracted to the game away from planetside, neocron, TR beta and perhaps even BF2142 BF2 etc.

Having played neocron for such a long time i can confess to how much more fun a MMOFPS is when compared to dull rpgs like WoW. There is nothing quite as satisfying as shooting someone in the face with a very large gun. However Huxly will need to generate a relativly lag free stable environment with a good Dev team and customer support, essentially they must succeed where neocron and PS have failed.

My one concern for this game is the asian development. If there is a massive PVE grind before we can get into the action, or a lack of EU support, if the game feels at all ..... asianised shall we say (ie lineage 2, EQ, Final fantasy, RF online,) i belive that the eu and american player base will fail to develop properly. The game needs to be marketed across the world equally, however.... i would much prefer that the player base average age is high than 13 which makes online marketing perhaps more suitable, especially for the banter that is generated in mmofps, Although its highly satisfying blowing someones face off with a cannon, They tend to get angry about it :D.

Huxly is a game with alot of promise. With games like crysis on the horizon and also quake wars there could be a revival of the FPS genre as really there has been nothing worth playing since half life 2. PvP will drive the game and the end game should be almost 100% based on pvp to keep people active, there is a hole in the market for a pvp centric mmo that guild wars really cant fill. Bring on huxley!

I came in here ready to flame, but I must admit you hit the nail right on the head and I agree with everything you said.

I just don't have much faith anymore in this development team, they seem for the most part to be ignoring the English speaking demographic..

    ------------------------------
You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

I sort of agree with tiny. I do have faith in the team ,although it wanes from time to time, I believe their biggest problem is ignoring the english speaking gamers. They need to bvuild a hunger for this game. WEbzen neds to release bits of information (no matter how small) to keep people coming back, build some hype.

I can't say that I am in the least bit intrested in the PvP, myself. For me personally the game will stand or fall on it's PvE.

The developers are actually focusing this game on the North American market because they said that FPS are popular around there. Some where on an article is where I found them saying this.

Grinding won't be too much of a problem because you'll have quests to do, monsters to kill, people to kill, and to explore. I am pretty sure a level 1 newbie can participate in PvP combat. They just won't be skilled or well geared for PvP combat yet.

I have high expectations for this game and I know it won't let us down.

Yeah sure, if you're a pre-teen.  I'm 45 and shooting someone in the face with a big gun is... well tedious, especially when I have to do it twenty times an hour.

For me, if this game is going to hold my attention it's going to have to have some depth beyond the combat.  If I can't 'live' in the world I'm not likely to play in it.  If all there is to it is shooting, I'm outta there.

I was under assumption that this game will focus almost exclusively on the pvp content( such as Warmahmmer) Either way, I hope it does not go the same direction as Auto Assault did...

Can we make better topics please? ... cause I hate reading things that I could read on the Huxley website.

Got exact same concerns really got bad experience with korean or asian games for that mather (for example Aion the clothing video already says enough , a horrible flashback of lineage2 already sums it up....)

Been playing mmorpgs for the past 5 years now orso and the only one i enjoyed was the one with the most bugs and errors of em all (neocron) but it was a damn fun mmoFPS and the pvp somtimes was very enjoyable.

Hopefully huxley can bring the pvp everybody is waiting for (descent outpost fights or related, things WORTH to get excited about especially on teamspeak and all (i find that the most fun factor of em all in gaming but some games dont allow much teamspeak fun if u ask me)

For me its most lickley if this game will fail il most lickely will put mmorpg on a hold, if not forever. Im done with the press the 1-9 button where gear dominates all and u press the same buttons exactly the same in about every encounter..

Oh well i hope huxley will be worth it else it will probarly be ut3.
