Yes, there are 2 different versions. You need do download and install the EU version, if you want to play with a key from Codemasters.

completely different localisations, for example during the Early Access process for the European pre-order customers. The US recieved a patch in the beta, the Europeans didn't see the same patch until well after the retail version had gone live.

The Europeans will always be 2-3 weeks AFTER the US are patched due to the shoddy way codemasters and turbine handled it.

the euro forums at the time were not happy, but *shrugs* you gotta get on with it, they're not blizzard after all.

while I tend to agree about EU patches ALWAYS being behind, the next big content patch will be delivered only 1 day after US. So maybe they are getting their act together?

I really hope so. i mean i can wait a few days, i'm not THAT impatient ("yet" << had to be added). But when it stretches to weeks, you kinda sit there going "urgh".

    No they are not.

Euro servers are down yet again, locks up at the going to server screen now for hours.

Codemasters sucks, if you are in AU and want to play, make sure you get a US account

Laiina the servers went down for 2 hours today for emergency maintenance.

    Yes there are 2 versions.

The America version has low quality textures so you will not be able to see the game at it's full. I hope this is not the case with the EU version.

"The LOTRO client is now available for download to players who don't have access to the installation DVDs or a DVD drive. This client installation does not contain the high resolution texture files or all of the cinematics; those features are only included on the retail DVDs." ...

(AMERICA) Click here to download the client.

    (EUROPE ) http://www.fileplanet.com/search.aspx?searchtype=2&q=lotro . It's 5 gigabytes.

just to repeat what everyone else has said..

    yes there are two clients..

but with new information regarding the European client.

You will be able to get a lifetime subscription on the Euro client regardless of pre-order or founders key for £150. Thats 50% more than if you had a founders key from a pre-order pack. No time limit.. No restrictions. No monthly subscription fee.

Might make some pre-order peeps a bit grumpy.. but hey we got to pay £51 less. not to be sneezed at,

Yeah but the US has servers that you can actually log into.

I haven't had a single issue with logging onto any of the Euro servers since the day of release. Then again I haven't been trying to log on 24/7 either.

Stress tests during beta however... that was a different issue.

I dont have DVD and the problem is I cant get EU client nowhere. This files in fileplanet are corrupted - instead of 5gb it downloading 800mb with only 1disk database which I cant unzip. I tried all 4links on official EU lotro forum and nothing. In amount i dled about 15gb of clients from different links and nothing. Sometimes files are corrupted, cant unzip, etc - sometimes installing work there is error in patching, but it is probably US version.

If you know any good link to DL EU client I will be very happy.

There were only 4 days when the login server issue happened, and the last one was over 2 weeks ago :)

Now, we have received an additional 4 days (to the 30 free days), plus they mentioned sg. about an ingame item as a consolation reward :P

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.

The fileplanet client is not corrupted. It worked fine for me. It seems that there is something wrong with your security. Check for virus and firewall restrictions.

BUT youcan check this torrent at http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3673800/Lotro_EU_Version at your own risk.

Not again... they were down in early access (and in during maintenance), down 3 times in the first week of retail. they were down on you more often than a $5 hooker.

never got any free days they promised then either. *shakes head* i'll give it 2 more months before i return, there's still some annoying issues needing worked on. *cough* travelling costs 200 yards north should not be 12 silver (elven start area once you hit the main world)

With it costing 1 silver to be instantly transported from Bree to Thorin's Gate.

I agree.  Their travel prices seem odd.

The problem with EU client on fileplanets is... IT says it has 5gb. I started DL it - it was strange when i saw zipped file 800mb, but ok i continued. When i finished DL i cant unzip file, but i can see what is inside - there is only lotrosetup file and 1 unpackA file but should be more.. B/C/etc. So it is corrupted.
I used free servers to DL, there is 4 - DLed it 2times from different servers and the same problem.
