Pokemon MMO

Am I the only person that would really like to see a Pokemon MMO? I see that Nintendo is working on MMO's now with rumors of Mario MMO. I wouldn't even mind them putting it on the Wii, I just really love Pokemon and MMO's. I know Pokemon is kind geared towards kids but I think with the makeup of the Gameboy games it could be an awesome MMO for children and adults.

Imagine the possibilites...

Awesome story lines

PvP anywhere, ask/agree basis.

Playing as a pokemon. You are the trainer but when you choose a Pokemon, you assume his role in the fight, not a turn based game.

    I remember when I used to play the first pokemon games and I got all these ideas about a pokemon online game, so YES I would play for sure, love pokemon!

    I think Pokemon would make a great mmo but i have to disagree with your idea of being a pokemon. I think if they did it then it should be trainers like in the game boy games.

    I would definately play a pokeman MMO, i think the whole pokeman concept lends itself perfectly to an MMO environment and Im shocked that its not in the pipeline. Maybe its a problem with nintendo not wanting pokeman on platforms other than their own.

    From what i heard from a nintendo person that comes to my store they are making a pokemon online game think its called pokemon revolutions or something like that and its online! not like the arena thing but you can go out and do others things

    I never understood Pokemon.  It seems like some silly carnival game where all the stuffed animals came to life.  Back in the day, I tried to watch a few of the old cartoons and they made no sense.  SO, I completely do not understand Pokemon

    What Made It Ridiculous: When we realized that every Pokémon battle was essentially a Tijuana-style cockfight. This world literally revolves around making animals who have no beef with each other fight over and over again to boost our egos.

    Why We Didn't Care: Our theory is that “Gotta catch ‘em all!” was shouted at us enough to take root in our collective unconscious. Plus, kids will do anything for badges. Just ask Michael Jackson.

    PokeMon is still around? God I was like seven when that stuff got over here. Although I agree with the premise of the idea, it would make a great MMO if done well, I don't think I can see many 14-27 year olds playing PokeMon Online. They would be ousted by their Girlfriends, no sex for a month. Oh right, sorry. MMO players don't have girlfriends, well most don't anyway. The fact is that it would be popular for a while, until people realized they were playing POKEMON!!!! All the annoying creatures that say their names over and over...I had hoped that it was dead. So yeah, it would be good if it was done well, but I don't think it would receive a huge amount of players, even if it was free. And knowing Nintendo, it'd cost something. I.E. Your dignity.

    Also, Brazilian Style Cockfights aren't good, of course. I mean, where is PETA in that world? Infact, where is that world? So, good idea, won't work. Maybe it will, maybe not, probably not.

    i think it would be a great game, i've been hoping for an MMO with a pet class to use poke' mon idea of raising your pet and evolving ect. would kick ass. there is a Korean Digimon game out now already don't know the link off hand but its been out a long time i think.

    Id rather they do something based off of pokemon but more mature. Its strange that there isn't hundreds of games based on pokemon, aiming at an older market, pokemons one the best selling franchises around.



    It has gameplay that would appeal to the mmo market, as long as it was made more mature. Since you are basically going around collecting things, raising them, and then using them to fight, or compare with others, theres countless jobs/classes you could make just based on the raising part.



    Its also one of the only game types that could support a non combat game type for a change, to progress your character, in the form of them competitions they added in their last games, or just the ability to be some kind of vet lol

    I could never do a Pokemon MMO. The shows to me are cheesy. The card game is nothing more than kiddie version of what was Magic the Gathering. To me a pokemon mmo would be nothing more than a MMO of Neopets.

    Pokemon was a great RPG... would make an excellent MMO. I'm 18 now ... but i'd play pokemon again if it was an MMO
