I was just scrolling through the SWG posts today and it seems that all there is, is people fighting over how it sux or how it doesn't. Then I went to the FFXI forum, same thing... anyone else notice this?

I've noticed this... but it's in every game.
In my opinion Anarchy Online is still the Best well rounded MMORPG out there.. However i've found dozens who say "This Sucks!"
You will always get it.
Main reasons for this from the start are:
-Lag
-Lack of Content
-Cheating
-Bad control
Reasons after a while playing:
-Level Grind
-Lack of anything to do at current level
-Other Players
-Realization of wasting your life in a pathetic game
Personally I played Final Fantasy XI for 5 months. By then I had realized that I hated almost all the other players, the level grind pissed me off and I felt I had been wasteing 5 months for a bad game.
I d/l'd the SWG trial and I'm on day 5 and don't like it mainly for the lag I have, and also some minor things about the game system.. ex. how you level.
Yeah its annoying. Gotta love how people post in a forum or topic about a game they hate... I mean why waste your time and everyone elses time. I can understand if you want to express your opinion but it often turns into a flame war... I mean why attack someones opinion if they like or dislike a game.
This is really getting out of hand between EQ2 and WoW... Both can't stop attacking eachother. Why can't each fan just leave eachother alone. If someone doesn't like the game fine... It doesn't mean they are wrong, Its there own personal opinion...

LOL. Anyways, it's because people have their own opinions. Someone is always going to either like the game or hate it. Never fully take the advice of others when you are looking for a game to play. This is why the publishers should start considering to offer at least a 7 day trial from launch so people do not pay for the game because of "good" reviews they have read and find that it is totally not their type of gameplay. A good company would do this, but so far none have had the gonads to do so.
I'll give a good example. I was all hyped for City of Heroes. I put my prepayment on my copy and got my bonus disk (which is for sale if anyone wants it) and I was invited to beta in about February. I played the game 1 week and got sick of it. I did play it until end of beta hoping that it would be better. I never did like it (and yes I did my fair share of submitting bugs to help out..@ least 3-4 daily) and if I didn't get in beta and bought the game for $50 I would have been pissed. I had cancelled my preorder and went my serperate ways with that hunk of crap. Now yes there are people who like it and there are fan boys who will get angry with you for saying you don;t like games and think they suck.
All in all my point is that we will always see it's a great game/that game sucks, because people like different things and the publishers should help the gamers out with the trials.

I've been trying to avoid saying that anything sucks, unless I am going to explain why I didn't like it, and I figure that just because a game makes me puke doesn't mean that it sucks for everyone.
Mostly these days, I just try to answer questions that people ask. And sometimes I try to be funny, which hardly anyone appreciates. And sometimes I am just being a smartass, which noone appreciates.
