There isn't much of a need for new servers right now, they're still trying to fill up some that came out in January.  I wouldn't get your hopes up for a May / June release.

Well the problem is that there are too many servers.  If your new or want to start over you have to choose from 150 or maybe 200 servers.  Which make it hard to unite new players so they can group together other than making find a group a drag and have to solo all the way up to 70.  Then even at 70 you might not get in to a guild because they might be full of your class or they may play on a different time frame.  So it almost you have to make a new server to bring new players together.  There Recomend Servers though, but some reason they arent working.

The too many servers is blizzards problem not mine. They released to many for BC so merge them and push out a few new servers for those that like to reroll without dealing with aged guilds and unbreachable clicks.

    Bump for great justice.

For crying out loud, there are multiple "new" server that were opened after release of BC (January).

    - They still dont have enough people.

-You still cannot find a group to do an instance.

-You still have to wait hours and hours for any kind of BG to pop up

-Ganking is almost non-existent (on PvP realms) due to low number of people

-You still cannot by most of the items you would expect from AH

Why would you want more of these servers?

If you dont want to be too much behind, those servers are still very very good, but you might want to pay $25 and transfer once you reach 70 in peace (on PvP realms), since there is nothing going on there.

that's a good thing I reckon, means that they want the game to succeed instead of being pushed out as some crappy bugged up game.

Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.

Blizzard desperately needs to merge low population servers. The ghost servers are becoming less populated as more people give up on them and the ranks of ghost servers has been increasing over time. The game has peaked, the question moving forward is how fast and far will the populations dip?

The decision not to open any new servers is just a bandaid on a much bigger problem. It's also costing them customers in it's own right.

First all there are tons of servers available to you via Character Transfers, don't give me the $25 is going to break the bank arguement its lame. Some 'new' and old servers are dying due to transfer offs and people quitting.

Secondly, don't give me the want to reroll for a fresh start gimmick either. You want a new server to reroll on the first day and powerlevel in order to achieve 'uber' status on that server, I've seen this plenty of times and find it comical. NOTHING is stopping you from rerolling at any time, please stop making excuses.

Have a nice day and good luck with your new server.

    NO MORE NEW SERVERS!!!

sorry for the caps but seriously now, no more new servers, servers are becoming very unpopulated and getting groups is getting harder and harder

i play on blackrock, we used to be the most populated server in game with 2000 people queue's even though the queue's wernt fun at least we used to get groups easy, now we spend more time lfg then we did in queue ><

a little under 33% of the servers have under 500 active players on them. They were opening up to many new servers too quickly. They caused the population to spread very very thin, and is causing a lot of people to either quit or transfer servers pissed off. I think blizz learned their lesson for just opening up new servers just because.

New servers are not really needed for the summer.. Many servers are not even fulled to capacity yet. Some servers are over crowded because they are recommended to the new players. If Blizzard recommended the servers that didn't contain as many players as the more populated servers do, then it wouldn't be that bad.
  • ShazzelShazzel Member Posts: 472
LOL at my deleted post, it wasnt that bad. Why mod anyway, forums need to be open.
  • stabbestabbe Member UncommonPosts: 16
Sure some kiddies play like crazy over the summer, but like myself and all my friends we play less. I almost dont play anything over the summer.

their are alot of servers out their that have no population anymore due to server transfers and mass acct cancelations.
  • ShazzelShazzel Member Posts: 472
Yea like 30% of the servers are wastelands on at least one side (usually horde on older servers and alliance on newer). Thing is blizzard loves it because they make 25$ everytime someone wants off underpopulated server.

I still think BC did more harm to WoW then good.

When TBC was released (yep back in January 16th) the amount of people servers could hold (the pop cap) also increased along with it. (remember all those hardware upgrades that were causing server downtime, yeah it was to make way for this)

Blizzard in its stupidity  decided rather than release a couple of servers instead released way too many. (in europe, there were 3 PvE servers [ghostlands, hellfire and nagrand).. .way too much and i'm not counting the PvP, RP and amazingly 2 more brand new servers for free to transfer migration.

why too much well TBC sales although good, weren't great. Most of Blizzards population resides in China (3.5 million out of the 8) and they haven't even got TBC yet.

Amazingly only 300,000 subscribers in the US didn't buy the expansion (2 million players, 1.7 million expansion sales)

which means the Europeans weren't quick to take up the expansion, and that's where their sales drop a little from. Yep 2.4 million sales recorded within the month of january world wide.. however, only 3.2 million total sales by early May. The momentium didn't stick.

Worse blizzard bans all these bots but with the WoW game at an all time low, most expensive  - (£9.99). It means bots can very much easily rebuy and continue making profits because they spread the gold among themselves, it'll be a NON bot that'll hold. What you think they're stupid?

So bots don't decrease, blizzard makes money from reselling them the product.

The only ones who suffer is the average customer. and what do blizzard care about us?

the population is declining, since i think blizzard has finally reached a point where it's becoming stagnant.... they'll stay top at the moment, but the future for blizzard looks meh-ish

It amazes me how angry players get over the recent player requests for new wow realms. I agree that Blizzard should merge the underpopulated realms and open a new realm now.  Actually even with out a realm merger they should still open a new pve realm.  The customer requests must be pretty overwhelming if they have resorted to deleting all posts regarding this topic. Actually I cant see why they cannot simply just openly state that they will release one new realm every 6 months or even every 8 months.  Two realms a year wont cause a big deal and would make for a huge number of happy players.  Plus they would not have to deal with the constant questions of WHEN they will be releasing them.

At any rate, here is my outlook.  Seven months ago I rolled a priest for a guild I really enjoyed playing with.  As with many guilds a while after raiding started the guild fell apart and I am left with a well tricked out toon that I really have no interest in integrating with a new guild that has been playing together from level 10 or so.  (I KNOW I am not in the minority here in my preference to play with the guild and the players I level with).  Also,  I would love to try a new class. So here I am ready to start a level one character (I will keep my priest and hold her for later transfer to my new home) and I'm sorry but it would be crazy to roll on any of the current realms that are listed.  The beginner areas are just way to deserted to even think about it and if I just wing it and put in a few weeks only to find I cant find an sm run for my life....well...  lets just say Im not up to risking it.  I've been playing for 2 years now, this will be my 3rd 60+ character and I'm quite certain my last wow leveling experience.   Its not all about 'fresh and new" its also about the risk.  I KNOW I will find groups and new guilds forming on a new realm.  I KNOW I will be able to find a daytime BRD run when I'm ready on a new realm.  The same cannot be said of the realms released 6+ months ago.  Sorry but I'm not going to bet on a sinking ship and netiher will many other players.  Yes I realize if we all teamed togather and rolled on a recommended realm this might change but lets face it.  how likely is that to happen?  Also had anyone else noticed that many days there is NO PVE recommended realm?  strange!.

For all you players out there mad at those of us requesting new realms, think about this, imagine being in the spot I am. Ask yourself if you would rather roll on a deserted realm that may or may not be merged or would you simply stop playing until a sure thing new realm came along. Start asking blizzard to fix there mistake and stop attacking your fellow players.  We love wow as much as you do.  Don't attack other wow players for blizzards mistakes.  Send Blizzard email requesting that they merge the existing low pop realms and agree to open 1 new realm every 6 to 8 months for the old, the new and returning players that prefer to roll level 1 on a realm full of leveling characters to play with. Not 4 realms or 30 realms or 10 but just 1 pve or pvp.

I'm willing to make the 3 month time commitment to level to 70 and once again start the rep grinds for keys but only on a new realm and I am not alone here.  I've stopped playing wow and now simply check the forums and wow site every few days for realm news and think about how much fun it will be, some day hopefully soon, to start learning a new class with a slew of other players doing just the same.

I really do think that the frequent & mass release of realms, if left unfixed, will be the destruction of wow as we know it IF Blizzard does not fix them soon.  I should note here that I don't think incoming customers will be filling out those realms anytime soon so I don't see this as an situation where one new pve realm with significantly impact what is going on with the other realms.

    Well. that's my two cents.

cause they dont slap that tag onthem until the server has already died. And no one likes a ghost a town. They simply made waaaay too many servers. They listened to the chronic rerollers that could never create a guild to raid and had some sort of odd thinking pattern that they were better than everyone else. Whats the first thing you see on new servers once people can afford a guild? "We have xx and yy and ab experience in xx and yy and ab dungeons". No you dont! that content just came out and you're telling me your whole guild agreed to say f' it and reroll? o well... one day the beast will fall and all shall be good again.

  • ShazzelShazzel Member Posts: 472
Yea its tricky picking a guild on new servers. On one hand you dont want to join a guild early on and have them not turn out well, forcing you to leave (or be stuck in a 2nd-3rd place guild).

On the other hand if you wait to long to pick one of them you'll miss dozens of levels of building your relationships.  This means if you wait to long you might miss out on being their "A" team. They could also fill up on your class, even by 40-50's they could have to many of DPS class's..

To be honest the best part of WoW for me was new servers and being with a guild from the "get go". Without new servers every few months the game gets blah.
