Any new guesses on release?

the most popular guess I have been hearing was late October, but I wasn't happy to hear that one; so has anyone heard anything more concrete or come up with a better guess?

Hopefully September sometimes if it has to be that late. The sooner they can release is the better but I don't want them to rush if it isn't ready =)

I really hope it is not Oct.  Oct belongs to AoC and I kinda like both.  I was hoping to play PoBS a month or two before AoC launches.  That way if PoBS is really good, I would stay on.  If it is two fresh releases, I would head to AoC.  If PoBS is delayed past AoC then, it is going to clash with WAR.  That's not good either.

Now would be the best or sometimes in Aug/Sep timeframe.

I am not too worried about i though as i read the lastest devlog and it seems as the more they push back the release the better the game gets. I mean they are expanding Starting Towns so there is more for you to do there and they are telling you that they have various political, social, military and economic societies that you can do various quests for to gain rewards and such. It just seems to me that this game is going to have quite possibly one of the most polished, in-depth, and fun launches of all time. I truly hope this game gets mega popular because if this game is as good as what I am expecting it to be than they deserve it. I am really rooting for FLS =)

From what I understand the game is ready right now.  The delay we are experiencing is a business issue in that they are trying to get a good publisher to push the game; lots of legal issues are being worked out.

Sounds like that, but it also sounds like they've decided to add some more features while they wait to get a publisher as outline here:

Recently we had a meeting to discuss what the impact from a slip due to the retail distribution would mean for us – specifically, what we can do with the extra time it would give us. Some of that time will be used for additional stability and testing. But we also had an opportunity to add some elements of ‘extra fun’ to the game, and we could draw on the experiences of our players (you!) during beta as well as our own. We called this meeting …. FUNDERDOME. It all began with some threads on our beta forum talking about what was missing from the game, and a series of internal discussions to follow up on those threads. When people who are actually playing the game see issues, we pay attention: they’re the folks who are the most aware of what the game needs and doesn’t have.

We discussed 33 changes or additions we’d like to make to the game. Of those, we accepted about 15, many of which are fairly trivial. I’ll discuss a small sample of those that made it, and those that didn’t. Keep in mind that we think all 33 of these would make the game better, so even those that got cut have some goodness. What they failed to have was sufficient goodness-to-cost ratio to make the final list, or in some cases had ambiguous design issues which meant they are not ready for prime time."

Which MAY delay it further if they need to work out extra bugs because of the new additions. I cannot wait for this game though, it's going to be awesome.

Ugh, this is not what I wanted to hear.  I was hoping for some positive feedback lol not more delays on the guessing.  Well, this is going to make me want to keep playing that much more!

It'll most likely be stuff they can work on within the timeframe available between now and release. If you read it, you will see that time was a consideration.

After the contract is signed, It will take a month at least.  I expect more like two to three months from when the contract is signed.

This would definetly not be good news at all, based on your logic if the contract was signed today it would not be released at most mid-September, extreme earliest mid-July.  Waiting sucks  lol.

I'm not worried about the wait beyond the fact that I'm getting tired of WoW again...

I'm also not that worried about it conflicting with AoC and/or WAR, they are really two different (three if you talk to AoC/WAR fanboiz) types of games that will appeal to two different gaming styles, imo.  Sure, I'm looking forward to checking out AoC but I have my sight set on PotBS and will be making that purchase regardless.  And you can have WAR, even if it is a completely different game experience from WoW it's still more Orcs and Elves...  /golfclap

At any rate, PotBS is my most anticipated upcoming MMO and I could care less when it releases just so long as it does...  (soon)  :p
