My opinion of every free MMO I've ever played

Chronological order (from what I can recall) of everygame I've played that was  a free mmo:

Gunbound: Fairly decent Worm like shooter I enjoyed it, if you play on ijji or any server that uses gameguard expect alot of hackers. 8/10

Silkroad: The Chinese theme of the game is cool and the graphics aren't bad.  trading system is cool.  total grindfest other than that 6/10.

Rakion: Basically GunZ with swords and magic, It's OK gets tedious after a while.  Some hackers from what I recall.  6/10

Maplestory: I have a soft spot for this game since it was the first game I became really hardcore in levelwise.  Party quest (raids) are extremely fun, but leveling is a bitch and there are a ALOT of hackers.  7/10

FLYFF:  It's OK I guess, nothing really remarkable. Flying system is sort of cool I guess. But the classes seem balanced and the what it does it does well (sorry if that seems a little vague): 7/10

Rappelz: I actually quite enjoyed this game.  It's very pretty, the card skill system is pretty cool and the whole pet aspect is awesome.  My only complaint is about the hackers.  8/10

Eudemons: Don't play, dog shit.  2/10

(Metal slug type game on ijji, can't remember name):  If you like Metal Slug, you'd dig this game.  Aside from the glitches it seemed like a pretty cool concept.  Too bad it's no longer up and running as they took the game down a week after they opened it. no rating/10

GunZ: Hackers, Hackers, Hackers, Hackers.  Matrix type brawler death match game.  5/10 because of hackers.

Trickster: Most of my friends didn't like this game, I enjoyed it though.  I'm not usually a big fan of the top down view although with the 2-d sprites in this game it worked well.  I like the skill card system and the classes.  Although the game is basically furries drilling, I liked it.  7/10

Tales of Pirates:  Don't play.  Almost dog shit.  3/10

Legend of Ares: Very Unremarkable.  Like the quick paced action though 4.75/10

Rubies of Eventide: Don't play. dog shit 1/10

Space cowboy: Meh, the star wars type space combat is sorta cool, but the game is too slow paced and tedious to play.  5.75/10

These are my opinions, and mine alone, so don't get mad if I'm bashing a game you like.  I'm planning on playing Cabal online or sword of the new world when they come out to North America and I'm expressing some intrest in 9dragons.  Any suggestions would be helpful though for a new game to play.

I have to disagree with your opinion on Rappelz. I found it a level grinder with nothing else to offer. Yes you can get pets, but there is little to nothing in the way of real quests after the trainee island and leveling pets takes forever. Also the cooldowns on the spells are really annoying. 5/10

It's becoming increasingly common for people to have a long MMO resume.  Some people have the patience to stick to just a few games.  But more and more people are becoming bored with the exact same gameplay.

If a developer makes a new MMO, now a days, it has to be something different from WoW, or else it's almost pointless.  If you can play WoW, then why play this new game since it's basically the exact same thing except with a different skin and far less content.  LOTRO is doing well because even though it's basically another WoW, it's really polished and has the LOTR story.

I've been testing a few F2P games lately too and most are just another WoW.  9Dragons and Rappelz are an example of two new games that are basically WoW in another skin.

Gunz is actually a nice diversion.  It's not an MMO, by any means, but there isn't really many other games like it right now.  It's basically a third person shooter with deathmatches.  I haven't played it enough yet to encounter or even notice hackers.  But it's kinda fluffy.  I can't play it for long without getting repetitive and bored.

The only MMO with any appeal for me right now is Granado Espada (Sword of the New World).  It plays like a mix between a RTS, Diablo and Guild Wars.  So the core gameplay is actually different from WoW.  It's very polished considering how new the game is.  It's definitely worth trying out.  Not sure about the longevity though.  Already people complaining about being bored.

Word, i could tottaly go out and get the free fat chick ho on the coronor or i could go to vegas and go to the Bunny ranch and pay 1k-5k and have the best experience out of hookers.

FTP are mosty crap, but i do still play Last Chaos and guildwars maybe 3 times a month at tops.

Most of the FTP games are Download, Instal, Patch, Creat Account, Smoke a blunt, login, play 5min /quit unistall, delete NEXT FTP

Well...many of the 'free' MMO's aren't really free.  Many are supported by item shops.  I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the players spent more than $15 a month on buying items.

If you think Gunz is a nice diversion, you should really consider Gunbound or Rakion as both stray far from the WOW path.  Maplestory also could be considered an innovation in the MMORPG genere because of it's unique graphics and real-time battle system.

Sword of the New World does look very intresting to me, but if it is anything like an RTS then it probably won't appeal to me because I'm not a big fan of the genere,  But looking at gameplay footage it does seem quite similar to FF12 (NOT 11) but online.  Although it still might end up being cliched.

Rappelz is basically the poor man's WOW, I agree.  But for what it does, it does remarkable well and for a free game it's very polished.
