Worlds of Stargate Worlds

I've heard a lot of people talking about what the landscape would be like and how many planets there would be and such on threads, so i though i would make one just for this.

how many planets will there be? my personal opinion is that there could be hundreds.  I mean, every blade of grass and tree doesn't have to be different from ever other, and on the shows they have run into a lot of forested planets, so why could they not have about two or three dozen templates for trees and make just as may planets using those?  and it's the same concept with grass and caves.

Each planet doesn't have to be completed.  You may have only an area or two, depending on the situation/setting...

    Dunno, just an idea.

But I rather see stuff they where thrilled to do, and love doing, then see fully detailed blend stuff.

I don't mind if some worlds are less detailed, they are there, they where developp for a minimum, and if the devs love working on it, yeah it got developped further in more stuff.

Anyway, I am open minded...I just hope the game will be sweet.  *crossing fingers*

This is most likely no longer true, because i read this awhile ago, but I once read that there are about 80 planets to be released at first. Like I said most likely changed but still it gives you an idea

If they were to actually drop out 80 planets on release (which probably won't be the case.) They would either have to be extremely bland and sparsely detailed to save time... randomly generated a'la game engine with developer enhancements (much like Star Wars Galaxies did. The world was generated by a program and then was fine-detailed by the developers to add little easter eggs, suprises, cities, and such forth) or they'd have to be extremely small areas with decent detail.

80 worlds is quite the accomplishment. So unless they have a large team working.. and i mean LARGE, its unlikely they could fit that into a developer schedule.

If they do pull it off however, that would be amazing. Right there would grab my vote and play.
