Is it worth it

in Everquest II

Just curious.

I never played EQ..namely due to the fact that none of my friends were playing, but am looking forward somewhat to EQ2.

What will the estimated learning curve be? and will the l337 players be highly annoying since a noob is trying to play their game?

Like I said, just curious

    Dont let those people mess with you, i think you should play EQ 2 becaues you want to, some people will be assholes some will be helpfull.. and honestly im a  mix of both depending on who and mood.. But I think you will be happy to know that all the.. "1337" people will be heading to WoW, yay image

    you really don't know how the environment of the game will be until you experience it. Most games do have their share of idiots of course.

    As with any MMO game I've played, the ones i've stuck with are the ones where communication between people was easy, and less chance to be griefed so it does matter and I understand what you're getting at.

    Try EQ2.  If you dont find the first server you play on is friendly, try another.  dont give up on the game until you've tried out all the servers.  You're bound to find a friendly face that way.

    I forsee that EQ2 will have plenty of friendly people who play with a few random idiots.  Which is a good mix.

    Here's a thing to think about.  You may start off in EQ2 as a newbie, but everyone else will too.  Since everyone is a newbie, no one will dismiss you as just some annoying newbie, people will  see you as their equal, or even their superior.  The people who stick with the game will later on be the experts that newbies will look up to and worship as their idol.  So i say try EQ2.
