working on AC

wyvexwyvex Member UncommonPosts: 346
i have AC downloaded but i have not tried it yet, and i heard that the cap lvl for AC is 270 or something like that. that seems insane, compared to the games i have played like RS, the cap lvl is 126, it can take years to get to there. and FFXI, which im playing right now, which needs lots of time and work put into it, i proally will never get to cap lvl in FFXI. i heard that in AC it takes a while to get to at least 170. if i play will i have to put in a lot of work and time? and with a lot of work and time, how long do you think it takes to get to 170?

why you wanne lvl? pvp? or for fun?

you dont need a high lvl to be good in pvp in ac and lvlinf is quite fast in ac. just get  in a good guild that is fellowing in good dungeons and youll be 170 in like 5 month even without macroing.

I LOVED AC, but i'll probably never play it again. They made it too easy to level, and I always thought buffs should be level restricted. Maybe a lot has changed, but I miss the way it used to be. M aybe a year or two after it came out was my favorite times, when atlas weapons were the you know  what lol.

I can still remember spending days getting someone capable of making the Atlans for my fellowship, making useless after useless item...  Going through all the taper combos to learn my new creature magic spells and such.  Was a good time :)

But dang, that is a bit ridiculous a level cap...

AC was by far the best MMO. People who did not give it a chance missed out.  I have looked and played every MMO out there searching for one that was as good as AC and nothing even gets close.

as most of us I as well have gotten the itch.

My names KoRnfan4evr and I have been AC free for 1 year *waits for the hello's*

And although I have been AC free, it still haunts me.  The sound of hte olthoi the bashing of their skulls, defending of the BSD.  mmmm good old times.

But times have changed, on DT the pop has risen.  But the good dungeons are fought over greatly.  and with the way mansions have worked since DM was released the worlds have gotten more diluted.  If your looking for PVP macroing is your only hope IF you cannot get into a guild that owns a dungeon in whcih they will still require you to "Set up" and macro the dungeon for hours on end in order to stay in the fellow.

Macroing isnt as bad as everyone says, especially if you have a life that needs you elsewhere, or if you wish to just spend your time PVPing.  Its not reallyt eh evil little monster that everyone claims, and besides you may still use a program that fights monsters for you, you just need to be around to watch it.

I'd say you can hit 170 in about 2 months IF you play your cards right and get in with the right people.  Cause now my friend, even DT has buffbots.....

*EDIT*  oh yeah and pretty much 150-180 is all you really need to really start pvping any good cause then its basicaly about 30 single points into about 15 different skills in order to max everything.  So theres no big problem there.

use to be REAL slow to get to 126 it took me 2 years to get to 94. I cam back and in a matter of months I'm currently at 151 and thats casual play.

This is what you do. when u start goto training academy its easy 5 lvls, when u finis hthat, goto the Mukkir Nests outside Hotlburg, Youll get to lvl 20 within 2 hours, then try 20+ Tusker Temple, BSD, or Phyntos Menace. lvl like crazy. once you hit 50 goto Regular Fiuns(ayabars study) youll make 35 to 40 mil if everyone is running around.  then youll sky rocket to 90 real quick, at 90 goto 90+ fiuns thru the portal in Fiuns basement. youll make 40 to 45 mil an hour but I've seen it up to 60 mil in there. youll get to 110 in a few days. at 110 head to 110 Eaters. you will make an average of 55 mil, and it can get up to 70 mil if its a good fellow ive seen 75 in there. At 140 you can goto EO. EO is very tough for swords and daggers, you need high melee defense and a good bludgeon weapon. I'm a sword and because peircing takes to long in EO i spec'd MAce as well. in a small fellow aka two guys dont know what to do.. you can make 70 to 100 mill if u get anyone thatsa higher lvl in your fellow and does know what to do youll make 110 to 120.  I have to muc hof a hard time surviving in there right now(raising melee Defence and stamina and health right now)

Where are the Regular Fiuns (Ayabars Study) I'm getting close to 50.  I could not find it on thejackcat.  If you could give me the coords and the nearest town area I would appreciate it.

What element is best for hunting there?

    Thanks

92.1N, 46.3W, nearest town is Eastwatch. In my limited encounters with Fuins, I found fire or acid do the most damage. You're going to like it, you're going to level very fast there. Sadly you're going to be stuck there a while though since it seems few hunt Eaters anymore.

I went back to AC a couple weeks ago (couldn't figure out my old account info, so I had to make a new character,) and thanks to some old friends still playing I had fun for a while, but after killing probably a thousand fiuns, I was done.  I knew that I would be doing this for many levels to come, simply moving on to the next version.  I won't complain though, I really just wanted to see some of my old stomping grounds and I did.  It's fun to get back in for a month and go check everything out again, but it doesn't have the same feel it used to.

P.S. Turbine needs to create a new IP and use that, instead of being lazy and blowing a bunch of money on an IP that is going to limit their creativity and spending a ton of money just for the rights instead of on the game itself...LotRO is a step forward, but still nothing like AC in its prime.

You don't have to hunt Fuins. A friend of mine started playing AC again 2 weeks ago and hunted Fuins once for a few hours. He was level 50 when he came back. He's up to level 75 almost purely through questing.

Yeah,  I play on DT, and I mainly stick to the dires and death valley for xps, since it seems that eaters are camped.  I do the pincer quests as well though.
