That's OK, the keys should go to people who enjoy betas. I really don't, I hate leveling up characters only to see them deleted during wipes and what not....
I'll wait to give it a go if they hold an open beta just before release....

Usually closed betas are the absolute last stage for a company.
I dont know anything, but based on 10 years of playing MMO's, and seeing 'em go to beta, I suspect that best case would be late September or early October for an open beta, and that's if Funcom still needs to get that kind of info that you get during an open beta. They seem to have been active with contests and other beta slot giveaways, that I suspect they'll have a VERY robust closed beta period.
The best thing that will help, is a clean and bug free release of an a** kicking game!

Tell me... did you think you were doing a service to players by posting that link? The reason Funcom didn't put it up on the community site is because they want to reward those that are a part of their community. So now you, and others that "aren't even really interested in Age of Conan" will enter and possibly get beta keys over people who have been posting daily on the forums for months.

lol stfu please, who gives a sht who has been posting on the forums daily and who hasnt. I have been a member of the aoc forums for quite a long time and ive made 1 post. thats it. im not just gonna post on the forums hoping im really sukin them off so i can get a spot in the beta. and who are u to say that someone isnt really interested in aoc? If they take the time to enter that contest then i think they deserve the same chance as anyone else to get into beta. he said he isnt really interested in it, yet he checks the forums? that seems to be enough interest. I havent checked the aoc forums in about a month and I'm happy this guy was kind enough to post that link here, otherwise I might have missed it all together.
