So I came back...(Not a rant)

I played SWG when it first came out.  I had a Fencer/TK and a BH.  Then came along the CU and my Fencer was just not the same anymore.  So I quit the game and when looking for something new.  I have played a few other MMO's in the meantime but I can't stand Elfs, Dwarfs, and magic any longer.  I need a Sci-Fi game but as of right now the pickings are few.  Out of the few Sci-Fi games out right now, SWG still looks the best.

So I have come back but I have no clue on how to get started again.  I turned my Fencer into a Commando and the BH is still a BH.  Now they are level 75 and 80.  Allmost to level max from what I can tell.

So can anyone point me in the right direction?  Maybe some good web resources to read or stuff like that?

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you guys in game.

I ran into the same problem, so I just ran around aimlessly, more or less, until that got boring and quit again.

same problem. I was a master ranger and came back to a game that had no rangers anymore. I had a respec kit that I got when the CU came out and I hadn't used it at all, so I switched around between some professions. Now I am a BH and running quests that are extremely low level just to figure out how to play again.

I used to be proficient at my class and enjoyed finding out how to be a better Ranger. Now, I am a level 80 noob....

someone suggested to me,  start a new char. and go through the tutorial . damn good advice, cause there are a lot of changes for the old timers to get used  to.

Yes, I'd recommend this strategy.  The NGE gave everyone two toons on one galaxy, so create your second toon on your main galaxy and grind it up in whatever class strikes your fancy.  The system is different enough to merit this; you'll need to learn your classes' specials from the ground up.  They basically only get more powerful, not different, as you progress.

It really is a very different game from the preCU.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I came back to try it out as well. The best bet is to start all over from lvl 1 to get a feel for the game. After a while I started gettign used to the interface and the opening quests were fun. After a fw weeks the new wore off and to make a rehashed story short ...sucked. But either way , If your going to get into it again I would suggest as others have to start over and g3et a feel for things.

That's what I did. I logged in, had no idea what I wanted to do, so I created a new character. I went through the tutorial, then played my new character until I had a good grasp on the new system and went back to my CL 80's and specced and played them. I feel less ignorant when playing my 80's now.

    so...
