MS or GO

that's the big question for me...this is how i see it...

Maplestory:

1. Considered the original side-scroller MMO

2. has more players

3. has quite a few more hackers

4. doesn't work with Vista (which i unfortunately have)

Ghost Online:

1. barely improved graphics

2. same general concept as MS

3. pretty sure it works with Vista

4. barely any players yet (in comparison) =P

5. wants a passport number for registration (i don't have a passport...i'm 14 and have never left the country :P)

6. wants address for registration and says they'll be sending stuff about events (usually i'd give it to them but, if they're gonna use it to send me stuff, who says other companys won't send me stuff?)

i'd like you all to comment and give me your feedback before i actually decide...it's all a matter of "wait for Nexon's Vista patch" or "give the GO guys stuff i don't wanna give them so i can blow time waiting for Nexon's Vista patch"

I would try both games and see which game you like the most, you may even like both games. Also They are free so there is no real risk.

As for the passport, some countries requires a registration number since they restrict peoples time playing on online games.

I would just make up a passport (ex. 12345678 or whatever you want).  I usually give a false address as well ( 123 Computer lane, Anytown, MA 01589)

i say maple story, ghost way crosses the lines of "security" it sounds like they want ur identity (identity theft) u know some componys do sell identitys. any way the hakers in maplestory r easily avioded, (they only hak on sertin maps) the lag (depends where u are, and ur cpu speed/internet speed) vista (i dont get the deal with vista computers, r they faster or somethin, seems they're a little limited) PS maple probably wont make a vista download, to much at hand to deal with.

Overall i would say niether, though i play maplestory, i think vista cpus wont be playing for a while, i suggest moving on from both, theres better out there. get the picture

GO is my choice. The security things aren't really a problem, just give false information.

First of all the speed of GO is very nice. You can run like x3 faster than in MS and it makes travelling much more fun.

Also the very big jumps are nice. Theme in GO is kinda horror, which is... not as cute as MS, but its more exciting.

    GO has also fishing.

Anyway, I have played both. MS first and when I tried GO I uninstalled MS immediately.

You forgot about the PvP...thats the reason GO is better than MS

I put in my email address to GO, and the next day I suddenly was getting thousands of spam and all of the emails that I looked at (looked at 23 or 24 of the spam emails, cause I thought it was strange it happened shortly after signing up for GO)) went back to the GO company.

Maplestory is much better, no spam or security issues. I love the community in MS, and lately I haven't seen any hackers like I used to. I have met many nice people in MS, sure its grindy but its fun with friends and stuff, and it does have a lot of content.

    Maplestory definetely wins.

So much can be said about either of those games so I guess I'll start with Maple Story.

    Maple Story
    • Great replay value with four different classes, and second and third jobs out.
    • 2D side-scroller MMO is a fresh new idea.
    • Very cute graphics, and enjoyable avatars.
    • Many series of quests/items to do/collect.
    • There are some great communities for Maple Story out there, however there are alot of pricks/noobs in the game.

    • Used to be alot more fun a few years ago, because there are too many hackers now.
    • Wizet is trying to do a better job with managing Maple Story
    • A few minigames make the game a bit more fun, with a few more possibilities.
    • Tons of great cash shop items.
    • Personally I enjoyed the game a lot until I got to level 59, when I was hacked by a friend, and had to continue with almost no money and no items. I just can't seem to enjoy myself on it nowadays.

    Ghost Online

    • Also a 2D side-scroller MMO.
    • Less replay value as of now, but still 3 different classes to try out.
    • Good and Evil Orders to choose from. Kind of cool, because then you have someone to battle against.
    • Quiet a few quests that actually have some kind of background story to them and not just random thrown in events.
    • Probably the best feature is it's PvP. Not only are there one on one battles, but you can have party battles and Guild Wars.
    • Oh, also it's alot more fast paced than Maple Story. Getting around is deffinetly easier.
    • Not that much item variety. Although there is a cash shop, but nothing too memorable in it yet.

    • It doesn't have as many players as Maple Story yet but still has a lot compared to some games. You'll always be able to find a party.
    • Team play is vital, exp boosts are very well done.
    • Personally, I enjoyed this game a lot. However right now it's not working for me so well.

If you guys need a guide for a taoist you can find one written by me on gamefaqs in the PC games section under Ghost Online. It's not complete and a bit outdated but it's all correct information.

I've played many games, and the ones that I play change weekly. Currently I am very interested in Gunbound, Poker, and Kwon Ho once more. I am thinking of returning to Maple Story and Ghost Online.

Maple story has better PvE but no PvP. The "PvP" in the other versions is a joke, killing monsters faster than the other is NOT PvP. Ghost online has a pretty good PvP system, but crapp PvE. Since I like to compete for high levels, I prefer PvE, so I pick Maple.
