Check ratings, i think City of Heroes has quite a higher rate... i'd advise it, although i never played it, i didn't think much of Horizon

I've been playing CoH for three weeks now and I really enjoy it! But it is a very action oriented MMORPG and doesn't have much in the way of role playing and nothing in the way of crafting.  But it's still a lot of fun when you team up with other players.  But if you don't like action heavy combat oriented games this might not be for you.

I've never played Horizons, though I've heard lots of negative things about it from people on these forums.

If I were you, I'd get WOW!

i want something action packed and fun, so i might get CoH. thanks for the feedback

    Horizions:
I was very disappointed on this MMORPG but I was mislead to expect much.
The things mostly did not like
    General:
Ther is not one feature in game that is bug free or outright not finished.

    Crafting :
Each crafting tier was exact iteration of the tier before no real progression was made.
Player based Econimy was not realy working.
After about 200 lvl of crafting lvls in search of achievement I had only seen boredom.

    Combat System:
I was realy surpissed so many people put up with this I still am.
I thought it had multiclassing as an feature make sure you dont expect that.
Some class are outright gimped forgot and can't even part take in server events or in most item loot drops uncommon concept.

    City of Heroes:
Very simplyfied MMOG with fun factor.
Expect too burn thru the game in about 1- 4 months depending on our time and playstyle.
The User Interface / Game feel seems to be built around ranged classes.
Play feel is good it does suffer abit from a round based feel which not fit an action based game like this e.g. if an foe shoots at you an you run around a corner before the bullets hit you you still get hit or you up an invulnability shield only power activated after the shield raising get affected.
Its not that bad as it sounds and one gets used to it but would raised the fun factor greatly.

Its one of the best made MMOGs in the last two years which does not mean much as far it concerns me but I can not find better atm.

Personaly its an fine break filler for me until propper MMORPG come out like WoW or UXO.

    Previous poster certainly nailed it.

Horizons is a REALLY awful game.  I doubt that it will survive till Christmas.

CoH had a perfect release, is lag free, has great char/costume creation and is vibrant and active.  That being said I see it has a 1-3 month game as well.  Really no content and insanely reptitive..

A good game, nice advancement in the genre but sorely lacking in content to keep people playing for years.

    Go with CoH hands down..

IF I had a nickel for everyone that was just biding time in CoH till Wow/EQ2 comes out Id be a rich man...Im there waiting too

Don't bother with Horizons unless you find a very cheap copy with a free month on a shop shelf. I played the Beta and the first 3-4 months. The game had great potential but was released with too many bugs and not enought content. Most of our guild left in the first 2 months and the last 4 of us could not bother even logging in during month 4 and cancelled.

I am waiting for UXO or Dragon Empires, not sure if WOW is my style of game but might give it a try.

Why not just download the 7 day horizons trial and give it a go? I was one of the lucky horizons compo winners and although initially I wasn't impressed, it is slowly growing on me. Unfortunatley down to bugs and what i'm finding is a rather sparse community; I find myself playing DAoC more than horizons, but certainly in 7 days you can get a good idea if the game's going to fill your expectations.

Coh, it's an arcade game with lots of players, don't fork out cash expecting a deep, content filled MMORPG.

ugh, neither... they both have their flaws. Horizons sucks and is about to go under and CoH gets boring fast!!

I got an idea for you to save some money.  Instead of paying $40-$50 on two of the crappiest mmorpgs out there, go spend $3.00 on a hammer and beat your head silly.  You would have way more fun doing that than playing either one of these sorry excuses for a game image

Horizons has gone so far down the proverbial tube that the hosting company is laying off their staff. Its quite sad bit was eventually going to happen if they develop a crappy game.
