So I'm not big fan of the gold farmers. They are pretty annoying.
But then I got to thinking. If we forget about the illicit tactics they use to get gold (keylogging, bots, etc.) and assume they are doing it by just good old-fashioned sweat of the brow grinding, is it really that bad?
Think about how you make money to get things in game, such as your 5000g epic mount. Do you run hundreds of quests and kill thousands of mobs for the 5-10s and vendor trash they drop, or do you farm motes or other drops and sell them to other players?
If you do the latter like most people, where do you think all the money is coming from? Farmers inject more currency into the economy, causing inflation. Most people say this is a bad thing. But is it really? Inflation is a double-edged sword. Sure, you may have to pay more for items you buy from other players. But you can always farm them yourself, right? But inflation doesn't affect the price of a lot of things in the game that are sold by vendors (arrows, repairs, mounts, etc.) and means you get more money for items you farm, meaning you can get that 5000g much quicker.
At the end of the day, inflation caused by gold farming ends up decreasing the grind for everyone, not just the people who are buying the gold.

Just have fun with the game and dont worry about gold farmers IMO.
Although when they spam tells of there gold for sell thats kind of annoying but not really.
Also if they are just using automations and setting a bot up that is constantly killing a mob/mobs thats not very cool.
Oh, I know that. They don't really bother me that much.
I'm just theorizing, and noting that for all the complaining people do about the problems the farmers supposedly cause, they aren't realizing that the gold farmers may actually be helping them.
Frankly, I wonder if Blizzard isn't hunting down the farmers because they know that farmers reduce the grind for everyone, and they WANT the game to be more of a grind, thinking that somehow this will get people to play for longer.

Jeeez, it hard to describe my feelings about that sucky races. Holocaust 4 all dirty nomes! If your friend is nome leave him alone or just die before we meet inr. I had 2 meetings with Police due my behaviour to all nome players but it is preludium only, it is only start.
sorry gtg , i heard about 1 guy living close to me, he plays nome mage . My WoW gaming is finished but hate is still alive
The problem with inflation is it's a self consuming situation. It continually pushes up the price of things and in turn pushes it's own importance and value up. Before long the rate of inflation pushes the cost of normal items beyond the reach of normal people. In regard to a game, you start lossing players because they cant afford to be competitive with other players. This creates a declining player pool and hence income for the company running the game. They in turn reduce expenditure on staff so customer support becomes worse and development of the game reduces. This continual decline eventually results in the game being closed.
I've nothing against players farming gold but I do believe gold bot farmers destroy a game. After all a player can only farm for so long, whilst a bot can keep going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"I belive that we miss one small thing in this "farmers story" ..... many will dissagree with me, but reasonable amount of farmers is good in any game, and in wow too."
Thats what this thread is about if you read the first post they said basicly the same thing mabey your the one who missed it.
And ur point in this reply was ?
