Besides, when people will realise games are supposed to be fun, and not feel like work, any fun game could kill WoW.
Yeah i was also looking for that opetion but since it wasnt there ill just say OMG not another compare to wow topic
I think the marketing will make it famous. All ready a lot of fans, and since it's based on the tapletop by GW it increases the posibiliy that it will be famous. Along with this i think that the gameplay will make it a big MMO. Don't expect it to be the new WOW as i seems impossible but i think that a lot will be drawn to this game, as it offers so much in many aspects of the game. So to answer your question no it will not be wow killer, but a heads up for wow, that they might wanna consider keep developing the game or they may suddenly become spectators in the MMO market. But surely they will prevent this, because blizzard is a highly professional corporation.
But that's just my opinion
Try to understand that for a Greenskin, a day that starts by killing someone with your bare hands and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle is a good day!
Most people are playing WoW because they are Waiting on Warhammer (sorry thats lame xD). Get on WoW and ask in your guild if they will start playing WAR, 70% will say they will or they want to watch it first.
IMO, WAR will draw a nice solid player base, but its pvp basis will keep it from ever challenging a PVE based game like WOW.
Sort of like how things went back in the day between EQ 1 and DAOC. I felt DAOC was the superior product, but EQ dominated the market....
I'll be playing WAR, as will many people I know, but WOW won't empty out over WAR (maybe combined with all the other games)

Really the big Market battle is Asia.Mythic failed to dent it with Daoc. And it looks like Aion is going to be up and running waiting for it.I personally think its going to be more a one sided fight taking on aion in asia.aion seems to have the potential of even hurting WoW to good extent. But being PVP it is more a Wow nuisance .looks like by summer 08" wow will still have the most subs.at least 6 million.
WAR may peak at 2 million. Its just with Mythics track record of expansions can they hold them?
I'm very excited about WAR, but let's face it--the only thing that's gonna "kill" WoW is time. Whatever you think of Blizzard, they know their market and cater to the masses accordingly, whether we're talking ease of play or realistic system requirements that make WoW runnable on nearly any rig put out in the last 5 years.
Eventually, the masses will get bored of doing the same thing over and over again and move to something new. It happened with EQ, UO, and DAoC. Hell, it happened to Space Invaders and Super Mario Brothers. It'll happen to WoW. Blizzard downright ripped off the look and lore of the Warhammer tabletop world for their Warcraft series, watered it down a bit, added their own nonsense into it, and, perhaps most importantly, has a 4+ year jump on WAR in this market. Just look on these forums and you'll find folks who don't know their history calling WAR a WoW knock off, when at the very least historically and visually, it's the other way around.
Will WAR be a better game than WoW? If Mythic delivers what they've been promising, absolutely. Will a PvP MMORPG have the mass appeal of a PvE MMORPG? Probably not. Blizzard is on top because they examined what came before, cut down on the monotony, and amped up the fun. I can't imagine that a company this savvy is just going to roll over and play dead as the next gen of MMORPGs come over the horizon.

Anyways, this is kind of biased since your in a Warhammer Online section of the forums. You should of juct stuck with the post in the pub.
how is that a better poll? lol
And if WAR is as good as it looks, in about a years time after it releases it will be waaaaaaaayyyy higher then 1 million players. Try 3 or 4

WoW isn't going to be killed. It'll simply start to lose subscribers as it ages the same way that UO, Everquest, DAoC and various other MMOs have done over the years.
No game is going to "kill WoW."

I doubt this game will touch anything, maybe with the exception of SWG

Well, of course you still have Mobs, QUests, Dungeons, loot, XP, Levels, Skills, and so on and so forth. It IS a MMORPG, after all.
What (I guess), checkthis500 wanted to point out with his exaggerated Post:
WAR was never planned to "Kill WoW". The WAR Devs said something along the lines of "We didn't develop WAR to steal subscribers from other MMOs, we develop WAR to be a fun game for PvP Fans."
The Devs don't like the term "WoW Killer" nor "WoW Clone" nor ANYTHING concerning WoW.
WAR simply will be a great, PvP focussed MMORPG. Not more, not less.
Only you do?
Please tell us all what the definition of fun is.
