Well, I know you would not expect anything different. But seriously, I tried HARD to stay objective during the last hours of Shores of Evendim. But hell,

it's just plain awesome.

- They added a huuuge new area with new textures, new architecture, new look, weather system included now

- They improved almost all sounds, improved interface issues (new item-icons, new backround, much clearer now)

- They included tons of new quests for mid-range players

- First raid instance

- total music system revamp with bass and drums (YAY) and programmable music

- Crafted items are bound now

- Consumables are SO easy to craft now, crafting in general appears a lot more balanced at a first glance

Guys, I've never ever (maybe Asherons Call) seen updates like THIS happening two months after release. If they keep the pace, I start to believe housing is coming in october (its announced for october, but I was sceptical). Besides they must have a 50 man QA department. Everything in the new zone, of the new skills and traits seems exactly as polished as the rest of the game...

PLUS, they again captured the feeling of Evendim and the once great kingdom of Arnor. It's totally like the northern version of Gondor in ruins.

A+++ for a great job...

I am too low of a level to have really checked out the new area, but I immediately noticed the improved sounds.  Of course the UI changes as well, but the sounds are what I appreciated the most as I recently upgraded my sound system and this has turned into the game I would demo the system for someone with.  The surround mixing is basically flawless and the sound quality just got bumped up quite a bit!

I have to admit I was a bit nervous about this expansion. While Turbine always did a excellent job with AC.. well save for one instance I can think of,  I wasn't sure how it was going to go on LOTRO. I am totally relieved though now I love the changes to the UI. Every single little thing I asked for was done! From sound, UI, quest flaws, text flaws and class flaws! YAY!!

To top it all off I'm farming and making a profit now! Sorta odd being the only elf farmer though...

I sure hope they add bagpipes into the music system!

       Other then that....

It is amazing how much they added! Top down and everything in between!

LOTRO is a smashing success!  I just pray for most of the same on a semi regular basis (2 months?)

I agree, they did a really good job with this expansion right out of the gate. I'm surprised.

While I've been a believer from the get go, Evendim has blown me away. I felt like a little boy in a candy shop. I spent close to three hours just running around and exploring the new zone (as best I could at level 32). The lake is absolutely huge, and extremely beautiful, along with the Arnorian archiecture. I got a kick out of the giant salamanders that would tar you, then set you on fire. Sweetness.

Fantastic job Turbine! I look forward to seeing Middle-Earth grow under your capable hands.

Is this just me, or does the game now have a cow that "mooohs" when you exit the game?

Fear not CJDJ. While there easier to craft, they also sale for more I'm just raking in the silvers now! It takes some patience of course and a LOT more time then the other crafts but if you love to farm its a feasible livelyhood now. Personally I spend my time Exploring. Then I come home and settle down for a few hours and farm. Its a wonderful way to live!

to me, putting all that in 2 months after launch, says that they didnt finish it before launch and r trying to pass it off as new content.

Well...obviously.  What game doesnt do that?  By your logic there should never be content updates to games??

Totally agree with OP, this free expansion not only add new content but also fixed a lot of issues and generally polished the entire game ;)

Ahh your a classy one.  Doubt my intelligence because I misunderstood your post.  I love how you have to just push it and add that statement at the end instead of trying to actually I dont know......discuss your post!

If you are going to talk down about people enjoying the update, and then insult me immediately after, its apparently not worth discussing what you were trying to say in your post.

"to me, putting all that in 2 months after launch, says that they didnt finish it before launch and r trying to pass it off as new content."

I dont see how anything released after launch wouldnt be new content..  Maybe your post just had a shadow of negativity which obviously you have as your reply to me was loaded with it.   I guess you just wanted to try to knock down those that were excited about the patch rather than actually discussing anything...  anyways...

Kudos to Turbine, the expansion rocks. Just the fact they added this much content for free a month after release makes other game companies look like shit in comparison. Can't wait to see what the paid expansions add now.

    I miss DAoC

Honestly... Crafted items being bound??? Can crafters not sell their wares in this game???...  Honestly I don't know how to explain how dumb I think that decision is.

There's so many things I like about the content update, I don't think I can describe them all.

I knew Turbine still had the magic in them... :D
