Xbox360 vs PS3 vs PC vs Wii...clearly the true winner is...

The PC.

Lets look at it

PS3, 700 dollars last I looked last week at Best Buy and Fry's Electronics, who had a bunch in stock. I can get a geforce 8800 card for 200 dollars, in stores its much more expensive but where I got it was about 300 dollars and I had a rebate I found online to make it about 200 dollars. The rest of the computer parts I have cost about 700-800 dollars in total, all bought online. So my PC is top of the line, and only about 100 dollars more expensive than a PS3 and my PC can do A LOT more. PS3 is clearly a rip off for SOE fanboys, why buy a PS3 when you can buy a PC for the same price?

Xbox360. 400 dollars at EBgames for Xbox360 pro. Okay, so its cheaper than my PC (even so my PC can use higher graphics once they get better, but anyways) lets see, xbox360 doesn't have many mmorpgs...PC has hundreds of mmorpgs. I can use the internet at any time on my PC, I can use email on my PC, I can play any game I want (RTS/MMO/Strategy/RPG etc) any game the xbox360 can play I'm sure PC can play too and since my pc cost about 800 dollars like I said, it can play even better than an xbox360. Okay so if you do insist on  this buying a console...well it will quickly become obsolete and the PC will become much better, goodbye to your 400 dollars on a quickly outddated console. This can be said for the PS3 too.

The Wii...okay I really want to make Wii jokes, but I'll be professional about it. So, we get this weird looking device that my g/f uses often.... So this inappropriate device you wave all over, sounds familiar doesn't it? Okay so...its super cheap, but comes with awful graphics, but hey some of the games seem fun when I played the demos at the store. But I'm all about graphics, and my PC games are much more fun than Wii, even old games like age of empires 2 or age of empires 1 are more fun and the graphics suck. PC has much better gameplay and more types of games to play. I do like the controller so, its fun watching my g/f with it.

Okay, so the clear winner is the PC. 2nd comes Xbox360 trilling behind by a mile, 3rd comes Wii becomes the controller is fun to watch when my g/f uses it and PS3 comes in dead last, the biggest rip off since my PC cost the same (just bought the parts from newegg and a couple other sites) and is much better.

Why did I make this? Because all we see are console fanbois...we need more PC fanbois like myself.

We don't need more fanbois of any type...we need more people who will look at the world realistically and draw their own conclusions.  Not peopl who will drink the kool aid of their respective favorite name brands.

Another thing, I've never understood why people limit themselves to one platform of gaming just because of some preconcieved notion that it is better (mac users come to mind)

Why not buy whatever you think is going to provide you with the most entertainment and allow you to play the games that you want to play?  Can you play Zelda on a PC?  No, so buy a Wii...Can you play Metal Gear Solid on a PC?  No, so buy a ps3 (or 360, the verdict is still out on that one)

The point is, limiting yourself to just one platform is just that - limiting.  There's no real SMART reason to do that to yourself, especially since games are supposed to be about having as much fun as humanly possible.

    OP's PC: 800$

    Xbox360 premium: 400$

    Xbox360 wins.

I also love how the OP says your console becomes obeslute. Consoles have always dominated. And that won't be any different, live with it.

"PC has much better gameplay and more types of games to play."

Wow,  First of all more types of games to play....No. Thats wrong.  completely wrong.

PC has much better gameplay? Ohh, I wonder what would provide better gameplay, a keyboard and mouse that are not designed for gaming, OR a controller that has been designed FOR gaming.

Consoles become obsolete..unlike a computer, which you never have to pay money to upgrade...ever...you never have to buy a new graphics card every two years, or buy more RAM, or replace your processor because now adays games don't run without a dual core...no...PC's never become obsolete...they never end up costing more money than 2 PS3's.

But my computer has 12 screens 3 joysticks, 8 keyboards, 8 mice and they all run simultaneously.

Consoles have boring hardware and the gamepad  isonly suited to games with a minimal interface.

Some games on consoles are good. Like PC's most of them are tosh. But all of them are functionally very limited.

Not much to stimulate the mind in console land.

  • Eh, I prefer PC games because they're my cup of tea. I dislike controllers intensly, hate fps and rts on consoles (two of my favorite genres), and just generally dig the kind of stuff that comes out for the PC.

But that's me. There are diehard console gamers out there, I wouldn't begrudge them. Consoles have certain games that they like more. Some people even prefer controllers to mouse and keyboard for FPS. They're called heretics, but it's cool.

    I like my PC.

I've bought consoles in the past and they always end up collecting dust after a couple of months.

They are good for those fighting games though.  You know, where two guys square off on opposite sides of the screen.  Other than that, I get bored.

    PC vs Console...it's a draw I think.

A PC is much more versitile than a Console, RTS games are much better suited for a PC. PC's aren't however, able to be exclusivly gaming machines. Upkeep is a big problem for less experianced PC users.

Consoles are built playing games. They are entertainment systems. They can't, however be used for other, more interesting things. I personal favorite on Consoles are FPS games (I don't care what anyone says FPS games are meant for Controllers)

    My two cents...

That's funny...I've always thought of forty niners fans as Pagans...maybe the heretical console gammers should get together with the Pagan forty niners fans and they can have a party.

And for the record, The difference between what a PC and what a console can do has been getting more slim in the last few generations of consoles...if I wanted to, I could have typed this on my wii :)

Honestly I think that if you are a fanboy then you are not an all-round gamer. I mean the majority of console players play PC games and vice versa for PC players. I also think if you have joypads then I'm pretty sure your just no different than console players. Xbox360 and PC are closley on par with each other when it comes to their possibilities. Besides it's made by Microsoft, the future of Windows and Xbox will be pretty darn connected for any fanboy to complain about.
