EA Mythic has announced that the beta sign-up for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has reached 200,000. This doesn't come as a huge surprise as Warhammer Online is one of the most anticipated games on the horizon, and is consistently ranked as the most anticipated game by users on this site.

EA's Highly-Anticipated MMOREDWOOD CITY, Calif. - June 13, 2007 - Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world's leading interactive entertainment company, today announced that more than 200,000 players have signed up for the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) closed beta test.
The Warhammer Online Beta Center opened simultaneously in North America and Europe on May 30th, and the 200,000 registration mark was surpassed over the weekend, less than ten days after launch. This makes the beta test of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning one of the most rapidly growing beta tests in the history of the MMORPG category. The Beta Center is currently open and accepting applications at https://betacenter.eamythic.com/signup.php.
Mark Jacobs, VP and General Manager of EA Mythic said, "We would like to thank the community for their tremendous response to Warhammer Online. The overwhelming worldwide reaction to the beta test has been phenomenal. The team has been working incredibly hard to create a genre-defining experience, and the beta sign-ups certainly validate the direction we're taking the game. Player input and testing will be crucial in our efforts to complete the game, and we look forward to beta participants' help in shaping Warhammer Online."
Based on Games Workshop's epic tabletop fantasy war game, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning features revolutionary Realm vs. Realm (RvR) game play and is scheduled for release on the PC in the first quarter of calendar 2008.

Stop Trolling the Forums please
Wha?
Either I've missed something or you're the one trolling. I'm guessing the second since this is the first post I've seen on it, and it's the post that's linked to the e-mails about from the MMORPG news article.
My suggestion is stop trying to tell people what they need to post about because you obviously are not in charge of that. Not to mention keeping quiet makes you look alot more intelligent. At least more than you do right now.

You missed something ;-)
Either he's trolling your thread or he's just an angry WoW fan.
"Waiting on Warhammer." It won't take much to beat WoW right now - the PVP system is a joke. DAOC had and still has one of the best systems out for MMOs. I'm guessing WAR will be even better.

Someone translate "mor inclormation" for me please...
Oh, and btw, MBJ has said the following:
I guess there are a couple of 100k ex-daocers who signed up.

hahaha you wish buddy. This is the next best MMORPG since sliced bread, and I plan on taking it to END GAME.
How you can state something like that as fact when no one's actually played the game I really don't know. Everything sounds good when it's on paper but until you actually see the game 2-3 months down the line after it's live launch and see if it's just another tedious grind fest with a few novelty features to differentiate it from last months new tedious grind fest then all the fanboy and dev hype is nothing but farting in the wind as far as substance goes.
As for me, I'll reserve judgement until I actually get a copy in my hands and have some cold hard facts to base my opinion on
CoH/CoV - D-Zol/Kinslayer
Auto Assault - Slayer
WoW, LOTRO, DDO - Kinsul
Matrix Online - Tempest
In any case, those numbers don't mean anything to us until the game comes out or until we can get our hands on the beta and "make things right", but they mean something to them: primarily, that all the hype they've been building around the game has been working, and working really good when you compare them to the parallely famous Age of Conan's number of beta signup applications who someone else in this thread pointed out.
This isn't for us, it's for themselves. Congrats Mythic.
How you gonna play an online game if your gaming PC isn't hooked up to the internet..?
Wow, that is going to be 200,000 very disappointed people. You think they would realize what a sorry developer Mythic is and avoid them.
Can't wait to see the first nerf from Nerf-a-lot and see all the screams on the boards.
very constructive i must say.
passes you *humble pie* go on eat up, better now than later....
sour grapes seem to be passing quite nicely along.
sorry developer... please like blizzard are any better, starcraft ghost, multiplayer and single player demo in E3 2005 .. gee as soon as microsoft mention the 360, and sony talk about the PS3.. .blizzard drops it very quickly and make an excuse that "they're making it for the next-gen consoles". then drop it completly a year later. very nice.
Warcraft was an average came, warcraft3 was good in terms of advancement, but as soon as you start adding giant insects ripped from starship trooper to a medieval game, blue spacemen then make the alliance the EXACT same as the horde in terms of classes and screw the lore over more times than paris hilton. then somethings wrong.
I mean if they don't add arthas in the next expansion, then it's really going to kill the game. After Kel'Thuzad, Lady Vashi, Kael and Illidan, now i have to kill some meaningless badguy bosses who've never been mentioned before Northrend. come on....
don't even mention SoE to me, their past speaks for themselves.
all MMO developers suck, we've gotten used to it.. next time aim for ciritcism that can be taken seriously.
