Returning to SWG, what should I expect?

Ok, when last I left I had a smuggler/combat medic that I was in love with, who mastered the rebel pilot tree. My Nova was a thing of beauty! So my questions are this. What happens when I log onto the NGE? Would respecing into the new smuggler be a good idea or is it way different then before? Will my equipment be worthless? And what of my star ships and the decor inside?

1.Smuggler is now a pure combat profession.  As a smuggler, you will no longer be able to slice weapons/armor or create spices.  Instead, there is an underworld system which allows you to smuggle goods.  The highest risk smuggler missions are PvP Smuggler Missions; you smuggle goods but then get a bounty as a result which could end up in a player bounty-hunter coming after you.  There also also lower risk/lower reward missions that are PvE only.

The other thing is that smuggler has a lot of melee abilities now; and a lot of those melee abilities are very powerful/useful so you don't want to limit yourself to using pistols/ranged weapons like with the Pre-NGE Smuggler.

As for your equipment, it depends.  Most player-crafted weapons were nerfed in a big way with the NGE so you'll probably want to find yourself a good looted weapon.  Your armour should be fine, but don't quote me on that.

2.The space game remains unchanged from before the NGE so nothing should have changed.  A revamp of the space game is expected in Chapter 8, but Chapter 8 is still many months away.

If you STILL want to play the NGE, respec to Smuggler, it doesn't really matter though, it's either combat or not, and Smuggler is combat.

There is no economy so you will get new weapons from looting corpses.

There aren't many players around so you will probably have to solo most of your grind.

I would log on and get your character going, then go to Mos Eisley and grab some missions.

There is no community so pretty much expect to play the game by yourself, and get your weaponry from loot.

after playing since launch, i come back to get a character lvl 40

with weapons and armour that i cant use  nor i can trade

clothes that are useless since there isnt anymore mask sent stuff

2 mounts and a useless pet.

i played tilll lvl 58 and i didnt find a soul in coronet (bria)

mostly people where in mos eisley.  and i ended up soloing all the time (since had just enough money to buy 1 armour set and 1 weapon set  for my medic. so i spent my time in space (the thing that hasnt changed since pre-cu) and then i got bored of only space and i quit...

    lots of jedi though.

And you last played the game when? Servers are at their busiest in two years and theres plenty of people running around. You also forget that there are more places to visit now than before so the population is spread across many areas. Galaxies has the biggest maps out of ANY MMO game.

What happens why you log into the NGE???

A sinking feeling. A feeling like you're playing a game made for sluggards with an average I.Q smaller then a kid's shoesize.

( BTW i'm not attacking you at all. Just the farce you're gonna be assaulted with upon re-subbing)

Attack of The Street Pimps! Can you dig it? Can you count sucka's?

DMUK, I'm pretty sure I know you from SWGB...  Either way, the last time I logged on to the NGE was in May, maybe a month ago.  There are no people around the galaxies, so stop telling lies dude.

I played on Bloodfin and Bria, which are 2 of the more populated servers, and the ONLY place that had people was Mos Eisley, and half of them were spammers.

I played this game at launch and it doesn't take much more than a chimp to realize there isn't 1/10 of the population on each server as there was.

So stop spreading BS, I'm giving the guy some advice, Mos Eisely is the ONLY city with any steady population, and that is probably no more than 100 - 150 people.
