Probably the fact that it is open PVP and that currently it is ship based only, and something very very new. I've seen several of the demos and builds that they have done and they go into grave detail on things such as damage to the ship.It is completely player controlled economy, an example is that if people constantly trade say salt, in the same place, it will lower the value of salt, and in turn companies hurting from that can issue piracy missions to hault the imports or trader guilds can create missions to give profit to lower the salt imports by importing something else, or so on. Very immersive game and you get to command your entire crew too

I know the EQverse, am comfortable with it's lore and ambiance, and at this stage in my life am too busy to learn the fiction of another. The devil you know etc.
Also, EQ2 is putting in specific content for soloers, which I dig. And I have to say it: the future of mainstream MMORPGs (and computer games in general) is towards photo-realism, not away from it. EQ2, overall, simply seems more progressive than WoW. I mean, forced downtime? Is that still in there? Come on...
Ive been playing warcraft since i was seven and i dont see myself stopping now, so im getting WoW. Looks to be a nice solid game, at least as good as any others on the market if not better than most, and im well versed in the lore and whatnot already.
As long as they are not released at the same time I will buy both. I will end up playing only one and that will depend alot on which one suits me better
I have no doubt I'll give both a try, which one I'll stick with is the question. Or wether I'll even stick with either one of them. I really enjoyed Guild Wars during the E3 event and if it has enough depth I'll stick with playing for free.
Between EQ and WoW I couldn't pick a favorite right now so I'll give em both their shot for a month or two after release and see which I like best.
I'm going with EQ2. I like all the features, the depth, the graphics, the comstumization, and the style of play. By the way, i think WoW will come out first.

Seems even in the WoW forum EQ 2 is doing better, wonder what that means.....
Testing Currently:
Alpha: Guild Wars
Beta: Saga of Ryzom + Risk Your Life
Playing: City of Heroes
Interested: WOW & EQII (yeah, both... deal with it)
Currently:
Playing: WOW & GW
Me neither.
I'm sticking with Lineage 2.
Don't have time to play many games at the same time.

Planning for WoW at the moment. SOE burned me too bad with SWG for me to look their way again.
Unless I amazingly get in Vanguard's beta, then forget them both.
