2x Accounts Miner and PvPer worth it?

LonewolfLonewolf Member UncommonPosts: 252
I decided to purchase an eve account after playing the trial for a bit really enjoying it, alot more indepth than other MMORPG's and I guess that is why I am enjoying it more at the moment, takes some brains to actually play

My name is Loneez ingame if anyone on here is interested or just wants to say hello

I am currently attempting to play a mining character but tempted to buy a second account to use for PvP and agent missions so I can then use the cash from mining to kit him out is this a good idea?

Hey there, the first account I created was a pvp char with which I played over a year. Only recently have I created an alt which is mining/ manufacturing because for me it is alot easier to use the PVP char to make money by ratting and etc. So really, I would find a good 0.0 alliance and rat with them, best money imo ;) This of course means that your miner can be there for helping out the alliance/ corp by providing minerals which is always important :)

Hope I gave you some ideas ;)

U can use ur pvp-char for babysitting ur miner if ur mining alone in low sec space. I use mine for this. Good since ur corp mates cant always come with u to just watch u grind roids.

Tip is. Start up a PvP-char and a miner. Play the pvper long enough to be able to do some damage while u train ur miner and mine in high sec. After u got some money and decent skills u can venture out in to lower sec.

Dont forget to train the miner for a hauler.

You'll find that many, many players use multiple accounts. Personally I use two, and my brother three. There's many things to do in EVE, some require that you be in a specific spot to do it, so having a skilled character at that spot all the time is useful.

If you're primary game time is spent pvp'ing having an industrial alt (either Mission runner, Miner, or Ratter) to login without having to lave your combat area is helpful. Jump Clones are great to return somewhere to make money, but the 24 hour timer can really suck.

If your primary time is spent mining, a second account would be a great way to experience pvp. If its not for you, having  a second combat account that can tank a belt for you, or handle your hauling, or branch into manufacturing earlier than your miner can are all reasons why you'll find yourself paying for another account.

EVE is great that your character has no limits on what it can do or become, but it can take a long long time to accomplish everything you'd like your character to be a part of. And, eventually you'll find yourself excited by the end of training, and you'll be racing home to catch that skill that ends 3 minutes after you're supposed to be out of work. That excitiment even stays with you when nothing ends for 30 days, and you start another 30 day training right afterwards (BS V -> Drone Interfacing V). Sadly, that might be why I use two accounts.

Thanks guys sounds like  a good idea then, I find mining difficult as I have no one to protect my mining ship so a protector of my own would be handy, also I have my main PC and a laptop so I can run both accounts concurrently which is always handy

Thanks again for all the help, any other pointers appreciated

You really won't need 2 computers to run eve.  You can 2 sessions very easily, and it really doesn't tear down your fps unless you got a slower computer.  I personally use 2 accounts, one to hauler, and one to mine, it works out well.  Never have to worry about ore thiefs, and my barge can protect itself in high sec so I'm not really worried about that either.  I will say though, it is alot of micro management with doing that with mining and hauling, but it is easy once you get used to alt tabbing when you do it.  That or if you feel you can handle it, use the 2 compys.  I wish i had 2 compy's to try it, but I don't think i would like it as much.

Like most people that have replied here, I too run 2 accounts.  I a Pvp character and a hauler/trader character which handles my isk making.  I would say its very worth it.
