Lord of the Rings Online: Summer Festival

From June 20th to July 10th Lord of the Rings Online will be holding an in-game event titled the Summer Solstice Festival. The festivities will include a tavern crawl, scavenger hunts, dancing, and something called ...Hobnanigans?

Sunny days, backyard parties, picnics, fruity drinks with those little paper umbrellas: Summer's coming!

We're happy to announce that from June 20th to July 10th, Middle-earth will be celebrating with its Summer Solstice Festival! Each race knows it by a different name: Lithe Festival for the Hobbits, Summerdays for Men, Summerfest for Dwarves, or the Festival of Enedhin for the Elves. No matter who's enjoying it, the Summer Festival means dancing, drinking, games, and even fireworks!

This two-week-long festival features a variety of quests, vendors, and special events throughout the lands. Be sure to visit all four festival areas - Duillond, Bree-fields Festival Grounds, the Party Tree, and Thorin's Halls - To celebrate!

Special vendors will be on-hand to supply festival items like food & drink, pipe-weed, and fireworks. This is the chance you've been waiting for to finally get your hands on some special Elven Fireworks!

    If they keep this trend up, we are gonna get spoiled.



    I mean, turbine has already given us a smooth launch, a great free content patch that included fixes, tweaks etc. and now some great live events.

    Absolutely amazing...

     all you Nay-sayers out there just pack your wireless keyboard, and red bull and get walking towards the WoW-island of infinite grinding and PVP , its things like this that will have me staying around. All the fun and beauty the game has already given to us now, now  MERRYMAKING!!!!!!!!!! This game is the tits , and yes EVERYONE HAS SPECIAL EVENTS. but c'mon look at all LOTRO has given us thus far, and now more so soon after the release of the first ( dare I say) FREE expansion... " ODO !!!! Pack my pipe, I'm Staying at your Place!!!!!"

    Old gamers never die...we just respawn. MMO's Played Everquest,Everquest2, Anarchy online, City of heroes/ City of villains, Vanguard, Dungeon runners( beta ), Fury ( beta ), Maplestory, Runescape, Silkroad, Tabula Rasa, Lotro...

    LOTRO with a two week event, DDO with a "Welcome Back Weekend" where half the servers crash - I guess we can see where Turbine put its money [and glad I did, too!]

    Joy! My 21st birthday is within that time period, and since I'm on my comp 24/7, looks like I'll have a LOTRO birthday party
