Lock or Hunter. I am taking this character to 70 and i already have a 70 draenei mage. My biggest turn off for lock is going into tailoring all over again. Both of these classes seem to be great in PvP and PvE and i have a lock level 10 and a hunter level 10 so which one should i go with? Please help me i am very torn between the two right now.

Don't present your opinion as fact.
Warlock CC is not as solid as Hunter CC. The right talent tree a hunter can drop 2 Frost Traps, and pet offtank, handling 3 mobs effectively. In a heroic instance, that Warlock Fear is NOT crowd Control, it is Crowd Generation. So it's Succubus can handle 1 mob... and that is Warlock CC in a real instance.
Personally I do not like either class, but you must be fair with the comparison. Warlocks as a class do more burst damage than Hunters... but any decent Beast Mastery hunter will do more consistant damage, nonstop, with NO agro issues.
At the same time, paired with a Shadow Priest, a Warlock can fuel HPs to the group, Mana to the Pally, deal nice nonstop DPS, and Succubus or Voidwalker can handle one add easily enough.
In terms of class usefulness, it is dead even for most groups. Some situations will call more for one, some more for the other. BOTH have their place.
HOWEVER... a great many warlocks are so spoiled by Blizz's apparent favoritism, they can level all the way to 70 and have NO IDEA how to use many of their abilities correctly. I would put these Locks in the majority. So personally, I will take a Hunter over a Lock 99% of the time. I would RATHER have a Mage or a Rogue in that spot 100% of the time. Sheep/Sap and usually better overall DPS as far as I have seen.
As a player looking at both, you could really go either way. If you prefer the role of the scorned, hated, feared, darkhearted guy, go Lock. If you want to spend time with your pet, solo like a mother, and have the most consistant range damage in game, go hunter.
Neither is really a wrong choice. Both are viable.
Oh, one more thing... the Warlock and Pally Epic Mounts are NOT AT ALL FREE.
For my Pally it actually worked out better to spend the gold on Epic Training and use the free PvP Cat than to do the unicorn quest. Look that crap up before you go telling tall tales. Those quests get EXPENSIVE fast.
I say hunter though lol
Boycott EA Games. RIP Sim City.
My highest toons are warlock 70 and hunter 61. I love both classes, but would choose warlock if I had to pick one.
I'd have to agree with this assessment; it's very easy to grind all the way to the top with a warlock and not use all the abilities, because it's just not necessary in PvE to do so. This can leave you less than fully competent in instance actions, so be careful about that. Hunter is much more well rounded in this respect, fewer wildly different abilites mean you've got a better grasp of your core competencies, and thus are more likely to be desirable in PuGs.
The warlock pets are really situation dependent, and shine in some situations but don't help much in others.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

OP: if you go warlock... and you are fed up with tailoring... then don't do tailoring Go jewelcrafting or alchemy.

warlock for pvp, pve they are both pretty even imo
Hunters are the most popular class in the game. You will find more hunters on each server then any other class. Warlocks are also popular choices. Due to both having pets that have amazing abilities, locks and hunters are by far the easiest soloing classes in the game. I personally hate warlocks because their dmg output is mostly attributed to DOTs (damage over time). Hunters on the other hand have all these crazy little quirks and surprises about them when you add in their traps, range dps, melee dps, pet abilities, and kitting capabilites.
Now for pvp. In battlegrounds, warlocks and hunters both do very well due to their range dps and pet dmg. Locks can fear and deathcoil, keeping their attackers away for a certain amount of time. Hunters can kite and daze their opponents. Both are pretty equal in pvp. Attack enemey, slow enemey down, run away, repeat. Pretty pussy like imo but thats the benefit of those classes.
Now you get to endgame. Hunters are currently crying on the wow forums about their lack of sustained dps as opposed to all the other dps clsses in a raiding enviroment. So not only are hunters the most popular class, but they are also one of the failing classes in the endgame raiding enviroment. Locks on the other hand are more useful in end game raiding, but still, locks are easy mode anyways. Locks also supply a nice buff to the crowd and are essential in certain situations like providing soul-stones and health stones, and bandishing.
What it really comes down to is what class you like the most. I would create one of each and spend an equal amount of time with both just to get the feel of what the pros and cons of each are.
Persoanlly, and this should have no impact on your decision, buti would pick a hunter because they have more survivability then locks and aren't so fgty.
