Tired of WoW comparison

I've played WoW for 2years, its a great game. But I'm sooo sick of everyone compairing WoW to EveryThing Else. Just because its not WoW, does not mean the game is going to be bad...

    Allthoug i agree on the fact that it's gotten frikkin annoying that everything is being compared to WoW , topics like these are also verry verry common...but i think you probably didn't know this so i won't let you burn in hellfor it.

    OP... your post makes absolutely no sense by current topics in relation to WoW and WAR.

    I dont recall anyone ever saying "this game is going to suck because its not WoW."

    And also, Fion, WAR is the exact opposite of WoW. The only thing that's similiar is the graphics.

    Some will be like WoW and others will not and they should all be judged on their own merits.

    This I a total Different Game to WOW so stop comparing them wow was more PVE this Is More PVP (RVR)

    Now here is a different response...

    You do realise people will always compare something to the biggest one out there? It's pretty natural, don't fret about it so much. When the day comes that an MMO overtakes WoW in numbers then everyone will compare it to that one.

    In tennis, everyone will always get compared to the world number 1 - same for any sport...

     Every MMOG out there is copying WOW!!!!! For exemple every MMOG has a character login screen,it was copyied from WoW.WoW came before all other MMOGs ,WoW came even before God,thus everything is ripped from WoW.

       Seriously ,dear kiddies/mature people with kiddie intelect ... most of the features WoW has have being ripped from other games... and sometimes people have the same ideas people had in the past and may not know someone already said/came up with it.For exemple Kyle (a hyperactive kid ,wich only goal in life is to play WoW!! and brag that he can pwn everyone even tho he only fights people 69 lvls lower than him),John said "Kyle sucks and he should get a life"...20mil years later,Steve says "Kyle sucks and he should get a life" ,does that mean he copyed John and ripped his quote and therefor isnt original and deserves to be strangled with his own intestines ??

      And stop with the warhammer is just like WoW comments,the only thing WoW and WAR have in common is the fact that they are both MMOGs (oh noes thei rippppp uff WoWZ,MMOGs wur invuntred bi WoW),curently all the screenshots of warhammer out there arent taken using WAR's shadder engine,that's why they look cartoonish (wowish,yay I agreed with you,you win,yay ... seriously get a life :P ).Go to WAR's official site and see the trailer of the Login Screen with shadder engine (or whatever it's called) enabled and tell me it's exactly like WOW :P.

    Cry some more kiddies/mature people with kiddie intelect,WoW wasnt the first mmog in the world

    Dem -  If you don't really have a good argument, resorting to calling people immature does not really help make your point, infact it discredits any points you may have stated.

    I think in all honesty when people say "its just like WoW" or "it's ripped off WoW" what they are really trying to say is, why can't these companies think up NEW ways to entertain us. One example is Tabula Rasa, they are trying things that havent been done before, attempting to forward the MMO genre rather than carrying on the same way that Everquest did things.

    Notice that my point holds firm about WoW being so big and so will be the one people compare with, because WoW just copied Everquest, right down to the shortcut keys, but notice people rarely say "they are ripping off everyquest", because WoW is the "measuring rod".

    I want to see something new, something that will take the genre further... don't you?

    Shouldn't you automatically assume that the person who compares a game to WOW hasn't a clue what they're talking about?  It's pretty obvious to me O_o



    Getting upset over someone that is clueless would be like yelling at your special needs kid for not coming in first at the olympics.  Let them talk about whatever the hell they want while you can just sit back and laugh at just how ill informed they really are.

      Hmm you want something new... love it when people dont even read up on a game they bash,or atleast play it for more than 1 hour,WAR brings quite afew new features,new types of quests for exemple.Also I wouldnt be surprised that people that played games focused on raiding and wanted something would complain of a new game that brings something completly different to it's gender because it has no dungeons at all.It's just the facts,people bash games that threaten to be more popular than the game they love,or something bad happened in the game to them and they make it their job as if ordered by god himself,to bash the game down until no one will play it.

    Before WoW, every MMO regardless of genre was compared to EQ.  Reason should be obvious.  Same holds true for Wow now.  Warhammer online has the additional point of looking very similar to WoW, so comparisons are inevietable and not illogical.



    I'd say... live with it, the comparisons will continue even after its launch and subsequent crash and burn.  Yes I said it, this title is going to tank, not because its bad but because the market is supersaturated with fantasy MMOs and the whole pricing structure is going to change sharply in the next 24 months.

    People compare other MMO's to WoW because World of Warcraft sets the bar and its hard to change millions of peoples opinions in what they want in a MMO because WoW was so fun (i played for about 2 years also and recently stopped) and i think thats good for game developers to want to be LIKE WoW  but not BE WoW and be BETTER than WoW and that is just better for everyone. Warhammer to me is going to be huge, as big as if not bigger than WoW. And lets be honest Blizzard has made the best games in every genre they come into, and Mythic is extremely good at making RTS games and i know they will be exceptional at this MMO.

    If you think this game is like wow, it means you

    1. Havent looked into and therefore should in order to make yourself less ignorant

    2.  Dont care, and just want to cause a stir, in whitch case, congradulations it has worked again

    so stop getting mad at these people and simply tell them to educate themselves or just tell them they are missguided
