Some help to get started...

Hey guys. I've been checking around on LoTRO (Forums, videos, screenshots, etc.) and I like what I've seen so far. I'm going to be picking the game up sometime this week, and all the info I really need now is on the server populations/communities.

Basically, I just got out of WoW not too long ago, and I'm really just looking for a better game. Only thing I'm asking for is some opinions on the pop of different servers and the community of them, granted that any other information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There was a thread started just today about the populations on the servers, last I saw it there were 3 replies from different servers saying the population was healthy.

I have only played on Meneldor but I can say I have yet to have any issues forming or finding a group for questing and those groups that I have been in have been a very good experience.  Mature individuals, no afking for unexplained reasons, no insane pulls/mistakes.

There are some nucklehead comments in the OOC channel from time to time but those almost always seem to be from people using trial keys that are just trying to annoy people.  They come and go though, overall, good community.

Well I am not overly familiar with many servers other than my own but I have some insight into a few of them (although some if it may just be rumor). If I don't list a server it just means I don't know anything about it and it does not mean that the server is low pop, etc.

Landroval - supposedly this is the unofficial roleplay server.

Silverlode - supposedly the unofficial "older players" server. hehe.

Brandywine - One of the highest population server. Probably due to the popularity of the servers name. :)

Windfola - My server. Good population and what I assume most other servers I have not listed are very similar to.

Firefoot is always busy too.  I've also noticed there aren't any more server ques since the Evendim update.

Landroval is the highest population according to my pocket book on lotro

its also the "unofficial roleplaying server" you dont have to roleplay, but others might.

community is bout the same with the rest of the other servers, landroval just has a more roleplay-ish atmosphere

Thanks for all the info so far. From everything I've seen so far, I might be joining the Landroval server. RP has always been one of those things that really peaked my interest, so it looks like I may give the "unofficial RP server" a go.
