Don't really know much about this game but I've gotten a beta key for it so was hoping for some feedback.
Is it quest based, level based, skill based, are their raids, is it just 'go here, kill 10 of enemy x' . Main worry for me is that it's one of those standard Korean grindfests so any info on the game mechanics(is it 'target, click power, forget' like LOTRO, WoW, CoH etc or is there some sort of twitch based skill involved?)
Cheers guys

Auto Assault - Slayer
WoW, LOTRO, DDO - Kinsul

Like he said.
I want to add little about the skill based you mentioning. Whil this game dos not requires you to hit one button after the others. For example you don't have to learn how to do tricks (run jump do a 180-shot-180 runkind of tricks). It is point and click. Nor do you have to plan on how long fingers you vahe, can I press W and then simultaneausly press ctrl+6 and blow the mob out of the sky.
NO it is not that kind of game.
Combat here atleast in many occasions mean that you instead of having to fight 1 or 2 over a time of 15-25 second...
You will have to keep your squad alive while they are getting bursted by 10-20 creatures over a timeperiod ov 5-10 second.
Instead of fancy moves the combat is alot based on where you put your range and melee guys. You can have your warrior keeping up thos waves of mabs and have your range shoot them of, nuking them with AoE.
The pace in combat is fast, and you have to keep up with healing them maybe by skills, looting bread or potions.
If you like you can ctrl click your way through maps and just yawn yourself through the game. Oh yes alot of the combat is automatic, heck I think you in the asian version can lvl AFK literally.
But... It is fast and fun you really should try it. And I do think that the actions you use on/with your squad is way more important then if they are lvl 12 or 15. Although a lvl 25 have it more easy then lvl12 on same place.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
But there are quests and bosses that actually require a lot of skill. There are quests that people are unable to finish because they are too hard.
It is a good indicator to me that as the game grows, there will be more and more content that requires skill to play.
PvP requires a lot more skill than the usual WoW, etc. It's not easy juggling three characters, especially if your opponent is really good.
after lvl 50 (family lvl 5) wich means all your chars that you are playing are lvl 50+, you dont respawn where you died if you die and you lose exp, also in pvp servers people can attack you if they want.
as for the afk exping... good luck in later levels because of harder mobs, barrels and casks etc (things you destroy and a horde of monsters pop forward) yes you can afk level, but manually doing it in a good spot makes it go about 4-5x faster.
you can keep the good spots if you have a party but you get less exp, and even then sometimes things can go wrong like monsters taking out healers or bosses spawning.
but anyway... I love the game, first game in a looooooong time i havent got tired of in less then a week.
oh wait... we're talking about sotnw here... my mistake, thought it was granado espada... not the item mall+monthly fee game. >.>
sorry about grammar and such for those who care alot... kinda stressed.

Go watch another movie you should be 10 x more levels. The only skill needed is to be able to Skill LOOT and find a safe place to Sleep level..............
Hats off to "i am now the BOT". at least L2 had some players (chuckles). another no thought involved game.OHH only one thing missing AUTO looting while sleeping. i bet it is being worked on though by someone.
P:S.
This is not a Flame its a fact.
you make a Char or three, go out to the hunting grounds and auto kill, go to sleep. (sigh).
Like in pretty much ass MMOs hailing from the Orient. It's another one of those "Korean grindfest" games.
What makes this game even worse than others of its kind is that with the feature of controlling 3 characters at the same time, your characters themselves mean absolutely nothing anymore, it feels even more detached and dull than most grindfest RPGs, which is saying a lot.
True, but it's a great feature because..........
To pkers who love open pvp, these afk lvlers are god-send juicy targets. More of them the better. (salivating)
There hasn't been much pvp yet but a am salivating at the mouth waiting on it. There's dueling, clan wars, and factional wars (republic and royalists in which you vote for the side you want and it places you on that side) I have dualed with a few people (Your ported into an arena instance) and have lots of fun but you can't rely AI in the game to keep you alive. I have never before played a game that allowed you to play three toons at once and it takes a bit getting used to it but if get used to it its awesome.. no more dual boxing.
the last thing i will say is that there mini raid instances where you "protect your flag" against NPCs. Great place to get loot and learn how to multi task with all of your toons. Personally I have a pure tank, lightning elementalist, and pure healer/buffer. I have beaten families in duels 5-6 levels higher than me.
Simply put this game is what you make of it. You can focus on xp, gear, pvp, questing, or raiding. What ever makes your heart happy. Enchanting and putting special abilities on your armor is great fun but remember crafting takes mats but the assured way to make money is to sell those mats. So its all up to you how you want to make your way in this game.
Practically every MMO is engage one monster, watch a slow paced autoattack and hit a few buttons. In this game, combat is fast paced with mobs of monsters. The only MMO with a somewhat similar combat feel is City of Heroes before they nerfed damage.
As for controlling 3 characters at the same time, you feel attached to the family, instead of being attached to just one toon.
There are the occasional random swarms of 10+ mobs. There are occasional boss spawns. Many monsters also have special attacks that turn off the autoattack mode.
The area that I'm doing quests in right now has a random boss spawn that is 30+ levels higher. He basically comes through and 2 hit kills everything in sight before disappearing.
I don't know what you're talking about when it comes to "being detached from the character." I'm an RPer, and if anything I see it as an really great oppertunity for RP. I feel quite attached to my characters and their family.
It's a grind fest, sure, but it's very high-paced. You can't get a good idea of the mechanics of the game from below level 20 though. I'm assuming you're not even level 20.
I like this game so far. I find it to be a more casual game than most MMOs which try to get you to /quitIRL just so you can play their game full time in order to get anywhere. Casually playing I hit level 20 in 2 days. I like advancement that doesn't require me to quit my job and leave my girlfriend in order to progress.
I'm sure some people enjoy having no life, but I'm quite attached to mine.
lemme check this game out and see what you people are talking about.
the afk-ability of this is great for those that can game at work...(kinda)
The graphics are not bad and such... it's just not my cup of tea and I can't say it sucks. It's just not something I could see playing a long time.

If you would do that. While thinking it is boring, while not knowing why.
If you start a game and then not play it.
Ofcourse you don't find it fun.
But can you explain and give a good reason to why you was able to go afk?
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Am i stoned or does this post not really make any sense? It's like a haiku or something. I dunno why i even care, its just that it almost makes sense. Like the it has a hidden meaning or code.
