i guess most poeple will tell u   that  gallente are  very good  in pvp  and the best in solo pvp

it depend of lot of things   and situations   too :)

There is really no clear cut answer to that. Every races has good ships. Gallenti are versatile, but don't hold much an advantage over the other races.

If you would have asked, I want to fly frigates for pvp what race should I go with, it would be a lot easier to answer.
  • darknakardarknakar Member UncommonPosts: 29
true  but   they have to many factor and like i say most poeple will say  gallente  gallente gallente  hehe

it depend of lot of factor  but overall  gallente is the best  for most poeple

No such thing as a 'Best' race in PvP as they can all learn to fly any ship and use any wepon/module.

Ship wise it depends on your PvP style.

Caldari are pretty poor at PvP exept the Rokh battleship which is a very good sniper. Or the scorpion which is a decent ECM ship.

Mimitar Are good at PvP there ships are fast and have a long range with a good Alpha strike.

Amarr They too are good but sadly tho it takes a while right now to get the skills needed to be good.

Gallent overall very good with ships capable of good speed and decent damage with there blasters they also ahve the best drones thanks to there drone based ship bonuses.

So chose a race you like the look of and the lore you like then chose which racial ship type to fly then train yur skills there.

All races have ships that are good for pvp. But seeing that i play matar chars only.....i have a bias towards them .
  • blackcat35blackcat35 Member Posts: 479

minmater have the fastest ships, gallente have the slowest generally....if you look at the fastest frigates, from fasetst to slowest it goes minmater, amarr, caldari, and gallente....

transversal is pretty important to avoid getting smacked down, so its best to have the fastest possible ship in PVP, and having the fastest possible base speed is also important, why minmater are probably the better pvp'ers.......

if your not really trained in minmater ships, you can limp along with the other ships, but minmater do have the fastest frigates, and there is a reason why alot of pirates like speed.....

This helped me heaps, i think i might go amarr or gallente, leaning more towards gallente , dont really want to make a minmatar again because i had one of them before.

id say gallente overall. give u an example of my experiences. I have a T2 armor tank DOmi with 3 large NOS and 800mm railguns only 2 of them but i can hold up to roughly 14 or so large drones of wasp II's or Ogre II's (wasps tend to be good for ratting and orge for pvp) i already had several people sneak up on while im ratting a 1.5 million isk BS or just hovering around and needless to say they got a nasty surprise when they try to bite into me thinking they can take me. ended up with tells "wtf u got on your ship!'

lets just say the end results involved some renewed income in my bank lol. i find gallente excel in solo pvp but also do very well when involved in large group pvp. it all really depends on what ship you use, and use it properly in a conflict. oh yeah, strategy, and communication is key, i cant stress this enough! people who communicate and use tactics fast and effectively are the ones that tend to be the winners.

    3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 560GTX 2GB OC, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU. MSI NF980-G65 TRI-SLI MOBO.

they really should of scanned your ship ahead of time, and looked at you as a player to see how many years you been playing....

If they are asking what your ship had after the fact, its not surprising they are dead......

fast ships still help alot with PVP....

Another thing that does help is range, it is nice to stay outside of things like NOS, so you don't power the other person's tanking....

I'm sure you know of equal skill/equal ships that aren't dominions that you'd have problems with if not completely lose to.......1 vs 1

Well with NOS neft NOS boats are going to be effectivly phased out after R2, in conjunction with EANM nerf most Dom pilots will have to refit accordingly. It will still be a good ship just w/o an insane tank (unless it is facing other BS).

This reminds me of a saying I was thinking about putting on my char here, it came from UO in regards to their publish 26..

They nerf us now so they can sell us tommorow what we had yesterday....

Oh yeah, I remember publish 26 very well; I think Ronald McDonald (a well known UO community member) said it best in his videos:

"It is what leveled noobs with the skilled players".

umm lastime i checked we didnt know exactly what the nos nerf is unless they posted something abotu it in the last 2 days
  • SpoonthieveSpoonthieve Member Posts: 84
For racial starting attributes, the Minmatar Brutor path yields high perception and willpower which is important for quick training of gunnery and spaceship command skills (which are obviously important for PvP). However, there are just important PvP skills outside of gunnery and spaceship command that are learned quickly with other attributes, such as memory and intelligence for engineering and electronics. Since a PvP'er is going to have most of his skill points in gunnery and spaceship command anyway, you'd want high perception and willpower to learn them fast.

When it comes to actual ships, I'd say Gallente were the best (but not hugely better) than other races. Their slot layouts are better for PvP and usually allow to fit you either gank/tank in the low slots and warp scramblers/webs in the mid slots. Other races lack this nice slot layout like Amarr who lack the midslots to solo PvP on some of their ships, and Caldari whose midslots are taken up by a shield tank restricting room for PvP mods.

The most important note to take down when training towards PvP in my opinion is to specialise. Pick a race and stick to it; don't waste skill points cross training for multiple races otherwise you'll find you can fly all races ships but none of them well.

Also, blaster domi > nos domi.

What is the nos nerf Urza? I can't log onto the test server.

I was on yesterday and they hadn't implemented the changes.

That makes two of us, from my corp was saying earlier today NOS were effected by target sig radius (simular to guns and missiles).

  • SpoonthieveSpoonthieve Member Posts: 84
I think sig radius was just one of the potential nerfs. Higher fitting requirements or reduction in the amount sucked are some others. There was also an idea that you could not suck cap if your targets cap was lower than yours.

I'd like the last option to be honest. Sig radius nerf means heavy nos (which are the most overpowered) will still work at full effect against battleships.

Actually the best race for PvP is the one with the pritiest Avitars.

Well, i just started up my trial, so I can't give any real advice. I have heard how Ammarr ships can mow down enemies with brute force.
  • JADEDRAG0NJADEDRAG0N Member Posts: 733
Amarr ships are good but you need quite an ammount of skillpoints to do this. However it seems some recent fixes to Amarr may help in this area. We shall ahve to wait for a while first before we judge the new amarr wepons but im sure it will soon be clear.
  • PrumbaPrumba Member UncommonPosts: 65
Heh I joined Amarr for the RP value (non-religious Ni-Kunn anyone?)  really. I know any race in EVE can perform well at anything if you invest enough time and effort.
