Hi there all, ok this isn't a flame post as I love ryzom for many reasons, but how comes the dev team don't do something cool like open a new area or put a cool quest chain in that brings nice rewards. Maybe even different types of mounts? I now this is a sandbox game but even swg pre nge did new stuff like areas and mounts? I think it would bring a lot of new players aswell:)

Now in test : new high level area - Kitins'Lair.
In development : new missions.
Both of the above are pretty old news, but GameForge are quite rightly being very careful about new content, and focussing on a number of long-standing problems which affect the whole gameplay rather than consumable content like these. New content does not bring new players, by the way, everything is new to them. A new feature might - which is why the Ring was pushed hard by Nevrax. Content does help to keep players, though, if it is well thought out and carefully designed.
New content comes in other ways, too, not just in coded developments. There are rumours that an old evil still stirs on Atys.
In the 6 months since taking over, they have done nothing other than add a few roulette wheels and tweak a few minor things. It is not like they have had to learn the code as they kept all of the same developers that nevrax had.
GameForge have kept on the development team, true, but as the new owners I expect they will want to be sure themselves that any new releases suit the way they want to take Ryzom, so existing code may well need to be adjusted. I'd like to see the Lair, but it's far from the top of my wishlist. I'd much rather see core developments that Nevrax originally promised, and were working on, finally implemented - Atys changing and responding dynamically to the actions players take, like the old Kami Tolerance but much more subtle, complex and far-reaching. No sign of that even 'Under Consideration' though. Maybe because so many people shout out for new areas and items and missions?
The same development team under new management is still struggling.
IMO, Ryzom does not have much of a bright future unfortunately.
Which is really too bad as it had a lot of promise and is still the most beautiful game out there.
DarkYubo, I agree with you. Now players can hunt mobs or fight for OP /RvR/, no events, some special quests etc.
Not sure SOR falls into this category..... and it doesn't have the financial backing from a larger firm to improve it.

GF will be looking into implementing tweaking of titles 2 years after Nevrax first suggested it.
