Somehow bit sad to watch actualy seeing the condition these guy's live in, but then again we consume millions of things each day that god only knows how and where it was made

Wow – good stuff. I say we start a fund raiser to get these guy some better monitors. Some 22 inch widescreens would be nice. They probably need better computers too.
If it was 40 hours a week for good pay, I would be all over it. But that’s probably not the case.
In the third video that guy said that after a day of working, he wants to play and go on some quests with some Americans but can’t because he doesn’t speak English. I almost cried – that’s so damn sad.
The sad part is, they could make so much more if they could sell directly to the buyers.

It's ironic to some extent, but you decide on that... Because they somewhat make a game less fun for some of us... We want them out of a job, which will result in homelessness for them... (I'm not judging here, either way is fine)
That said, I don't understand politics and business much... But I'd blame it on the worth of things... Same quality over there is worth so much times less than here, just because it's made over there...

I think they do this because it's an easy job and has some sort of escape for them to leave the hell they are in for a few hours a day. Getting away from the dirty harsh communistic law and lack of any true income must be why alot of them do it. If they can sit down and do this and kinda mentally escape all that while playing then I think why not. It is America and other countries who buy the gold who continue to keep these people working, which again isn't a bad thing since they are enjoying some time away from their harsh lifes. But it is also like knowingly buying currency that was gathered from long hard hours of abuse from their employers. I am sure they get treated unfairly and abused if they don't play well or get a quota.
The MMORPG companies believe it or not allow gold selling to an extent. Don't let them fool you when they say they baned 1000 accounts over a weekend for gold farming. The reasons they allow it is it gives them more customers themselfs. If a person playing their game buys gold then they know they are going to continue buying into their game because they know that person is in affect bound to that game with all his or her investments. Whatever you think about them saying they dislike it it is false. In a way they can try to control some aspects of it and bluff so that it doesn't seem so bad but in the end the people buying the gold are more then likely staying with their game and even possibly unselfishly bring friends to that game knowing they can take care of their friends with gold to get them started.
It is a bad cop good cop scenario that companies play. If a statistical research group got started on how many buy gold it probably would be in the tens of thousands range per year, no doubt it is keeping these games going in terms of people having immediate success with buying gold.
Hey, the gold farmers are not just in china, there sweetshops in the old US of A too. They had an interview with one the other day after they banned all the macros. This guy was whining that it would take a week to get back into business, using macros again of course.
There are too many fools out there that can't resist paying for gold. Have to love the clueless.
That NY Times article was one of the worst pieces of journalism I have seen in quite some time. The Times has really tanked when it comes to quality articles.
10$ is a pocket change for you but one chinese lives off of that for a week.
thats why, while i dont agree on gold selling, im not to swift to demonize it.
Got me thinking (AUW AUW CRRRUNHH) that what if we, you know us the gamers would have lived their, i sortof feel that maybe half if not more of us in those conditions how life is there probebly would be doing the same thing.
Afcourse we could also considered us blessed (atleast most of us) truly enjoy and play games merly for the fun of it. And yes we are spoiled cause look at what we bitch at daily when a game doesn't life up to our expectations.

You Americans make me laugh! We love it here in China!! The movie was just a sham, I should know I produced it. We took our shirts off right before the camera started rolling. Honestly we live like kings and play WoW all day long. I don't about you all, but I hate rice!! McDonalds FTW!! Anywho, if you need some gold just let us know, we'll be raiding the Black Temple while we fill your order!!

I now think that being a Chinese Farmer would be a cool job.
Some things that I found interesting from watching these videos:
1)Calling them farmers hurts their feelings.
2)They would like to be known as "professional gamers".
3)None of them are fat??!!!!11
4)They aren't allowed to eat and play at the same time?
5)I never saw any snacks to munch on around the 'puters in the sweat shops..
6)Mostly all of them are guys.
7)They want to be left alone when they farm;but when they are done they want to be our friend.
8)I don't think they eat enough.
9)None of them can speak English.
10)A lot of them smoke when they play and maybe do illegal drugs too.
11)They pretend they don't use bots.
After I watched thoese movies, I did a youtube search on Chinese gold farmers. I found this one

To be honest, people shouldn't be angry at the gold farmers because after all they're just trying to do the only job that's availble to them. However excessive gold farming and such activities are according to studies conducted are generally detrimental and disruptive to the game economy for short term gains. However I still cannot condone buying from virtual good traders (gold sellers) if you want to help them perhaps you can probably help them in a more permanent manner by be friending them and showing them there are other opportunities besides working like a slave on a virtual sweat shop. Education is key.
