Tree's can use up a lot of memory, considering how many of them there are, so you really shouldn't look too forward to pretty trees. It's also possible that the tree/foilage graphics are turned down...

I have seen a live demo 3 weeks ago and also many max res shots were the players always said they maxed all the setting out. It's always the same paper sheets trees like in 4 year old games.
The overall graphics are great; its just strange that the trees look so bad. It's surprising some f2p games (i.e Rappelz) can make swaying trees with beautiful leaves when a so called next gen graphics game like TR still uses the 4 years old paper sheets.
Can anyone say "Halo?" Yep, looks just like it, right down to the infantry insertion vehicle in the first screen, and the Master Chief's armor in the second. Don't get me wrong, I love Halo, but to call someone "visionary" for virtually ripping off the look of their game from a console game is a bit of a reach, donchathink?
I am 99% its because its a closed beta and through my experience, closed beta's servers tend to always lag anyway.
And to the tard above: Ripped off Halo? ... Ever heared of Max Payne? ........ I did not see no crappy Halo armors anywhere in game kthx ...
This game takes more elements from Max Payne gameplay (both excelent games 1st and 2nd storywise and combat mechanics) and puts it into MMO universe. This game can and will be addicting to those who want the Max Payne in space type of game imo.
Still need to play more to say what I think about the game but since I am FPS it feels good.
That swaying trees comment was kind of funny. Do you actually rate swaying trees over actually having content in the game? Because Rappelz is a typical asian MMO with nice graphics and miniscul content. Personally I rate content far above graphics any day in the week. Besides Rappelz graphics engine is rather buggy, if I am in a city sometimes I can see it and sometimes I can't, kind of like smoke and mirrors.
Just a rather bad comparison to say the least. My guess is the Tabula Rasa engine works a bit better even if it is still early Beta.

And to the tard that's obviously never seen or played Halo, the dude's helmet in the second frame looks an awful lot like the Master Chiefs helmet, sans visor!
Oh yeah, the hovercraft in the first frame (in fact the whole frame) looks like an exact replica of the one used in the Halo mission where you go underground!
Go play Halo and then tell me these graphics aren't a close facsimilie, d'bag!

That's actually not true at all. Trees are low poly compared to most things, and these days will use "instancing" so only 1 copy of every type of tree need be sent to the GPU, 1 texture state change of the card and then bam - knock out all those trees, it will take almost no memory at all.

I think they look good. The only similarity to halo is that they have armored futuristic helmets. Halo was not original artistically (overall it's a toned down version of unreal tournament, tribes, WH)... I mean, master cheif's helmet basically looks like a paintball mask. There's probably a lot taken FROM halo, which is what inspiration does, but I don't see it being ripped off completely. It has a pretty different look to me.
The armor is much bulkier than the spartan armor and reminds me more of the other games mentioned above, especially how it's all colorful. And the aliens certainly don't look like the covenant to me.

They look like the trees in games that were released 4 years ago (paper sheets).
The trees even look much better in free mmos, like Rappelz for example, were trees are swaying with beautiful leaves; somewhat like Oblivion.
)))
I just got an email from TB saying i got into beta ...
Already registered my key and am now installing my TB.
Wooooot!
