Both games fanboys are quiet pathetic... it's kind of annoying that they must repeat the same things over and over again, it almost seems they are trying to convince themselves that what they say is right...
I will give a try at both games and i like the Warhammer franchise a lot but i m not blind folded, i wont say which game i will like better since, first i didnt play any of them, second all informations we have are subjective and can be wrongly interpreted, third what looks good on paper doesnt always looks good ingame, and for last fourth, the two games look massively diferente, i think they will probably both be good, it will depend on the feeling of the game i guess...
instead of review let me say that this is my preview of the games. honustly i dont think this is a big deal anyway but if it makes everyone happy here you go. i am not sure how my thoughts on these games are inaccurate. think about this how can my own thoughts about a game be inacurate they are MY thoughts. everyone has their own thoughts about stuff and i have mine. ill redo my warhammer PREVIEW. do not pay attention to the title i realize now that i have screwed it up. Warhammer look at these quotes from the main site. However, players are not required to participate in PvP combat, and may aid in the RvR war effort and enjoy the game in its entirety via PvE content." maybe its just me but after reading all of this i came up with this conclusion. your in a constant warzone either doin pvp or some quest thing that relates to the pvp. yes i know you dont have to do pvp but in a game that has you somehow contribute to the pvp why not do it? plus wouldnt you have to protect yourself if some guy decided to attack you on the opposite army? yes their are people like that wow people call them gankers or somthin like that. this also proves all my points and that i have been to the main site. No more targeting -- when you swing your weapon, you can hit many enemies in one blow if you're close enough" basically just read everything from the main site. yes i have read all of conan and i know what i am talkin about. maybe you all need to read some of it. i can keep goin on with pullin quotes to back up what i said but i have grown tired of it. heres my final thought. i THINK that age of conan WILL BE the better game. simply because FROM THE MAIN SITES WHERE I GOT THESE QUOTES tells me that conan has a little more to offer than warhammer does. now if you dont like this fine you are entitled to your opinion as i am entitled to mine.
Look you may have read the first page, but that's it you've only read the first page. If you're really going to want to make an opinion on both games take a long in depth look at them not just one or the other. Read the FaQ and the PodCasts and anything else in on the site instead of just reading some vague obscure quotes on the main page.
For WAR they only probably put half of the info of the entire game and if you watched the podcasts and read the interviews for WAR you will see its more than PvP dont put crap that they summerized.
Also WAR and AOC pretty much started the same time but AOC is coming out sooner so up to you whether they put enough effort in AOC or not. I think AOC will be a good game but they hardly gave anyone any info and only talking about the good things nothing about the bad things which there could be a lot more of.
But seriously none of these game came out yet so dont put up info that your implying its all about, for all you know AOC will have death penalties and have a problem with gold just like WoW did.

The reason why they only put half the info in the game is because they chose for it to be a teen rating and the development time in general hence why they pushed back to Q1 of 08. I personally hope both games do well. I drift more towards WAR because I love their lore, background, and races in general. I will admit AoC has some pretty neat stuff going for them, but I hate barbarians with a passion. Nothing worse than the stock version of a barbarian, but I don't think AoC will have that happen I hope not.
Nothing makes me smile like fanbois in a pissing contest trying to represent their favorite games... But with all honesty, one thing does concern me about both games. Unlike with EQ, and WoW to a point, both AoC and WAR have long, notable story lines. The problem with that is that when people get disappointed by a poor game, they are REALLY disappointed. Star Wars Galaxies is a good example. Personally, I'll play both. I will say that i'm more interested in WAR at this point, but rather than letting the marketing agencies for both games decide which one I like better, I'll just try both out.
I say the OP should find out what is SHADOWBANE, first and foremost. Rather than saying AoC = Original. If he can say AoC = original, surely we can say AoC = Shadowbane2, which in particular is also a response to the part where he stated WAR = WoW.
1) Is building cities an original concept. No its not. Its in Shadowbane. And why arent there as many shadowbane players as WoW now?
2) Is the combat system truly unique? No, part of it already existed in DDO.
3) Is RvR unique? Yes, coz only Mythic owns the trademark for RvR.
Anyways, it seems that the AoC fanboys have a sincere grudge against WAR. You can go to any AoC forum and can easily spot a few WAR bashing threads? Yet if you go to some WAR forums you see people complimenting AoC more than bashing it...

Im just happy someone is making an MMORPG that is Diff from all the others. i am soooooooo sick of (move to monster click fight exchange damage all u do is use skills) EHH . all i want is a game that can mabie use some skill of the player then just diff combos of skills. AOC has got potential.

So when the final product is out and im gonna buy, play it for a couple of month, If I dont like it, I will try Warhammer Online. Both games soon the big Beta and not much is sure yet. Time will show
