What will be better than runescape?

in Runescape
Ok, i'm not saying that runescape is a horrible game. Because it isn't. But I want a new one. I played FlyFF for a while and it was a great game but it was Combat-based therefore you only kill things. Since Runescape is a Skill-Based game, it is funner and has more things to do. But im looking for any other skill -based game thats is similar to runescape, but better art and better graphics. Thank you.

    Not too much skill needed in rs other than the fight caves.. most of it is just patience :O and if your looking for a free gameand you used to like runescape you should try knight online maybe or silkroad. A payed game, world of warcraft all the way :P

    He is asking for a "skill based" game, not a game that requires skill.  Saga of Ryzom, EVE Online, Ultima Online, and Neocron is all I can think of ATM.

    yeah but i mean ones that are like runecrafting or fishing, which are NON-combat related, because they would occupy me more because besides flyff most combat based games are boring.



    (and only free games or possibly one time pay)

    Neocron is FPS, I doubt he would be interested in that.

    EVE Online, Ryzom, Ultima are all good suggestions but they cost quite a bit more than Runescape. Ultima is also extremely outdated and pretty much ridiculous. Ryzom has several non-combat skills, but when it comes down to it, the game is combat-based. Either you're killing mobs to collect materials, or you're killing mobs because they're in the way of your materials.

    Same with EVE, although I suppose he could avoid combat if he really really tried. It would be nearly impossible though, considering the game is FFA with looting.

    IMO, just stick with Runescape. There's nothing else quite like it.

    I would call Neocron more RPG than FPS but either way it has elements of both.  As for EVE it is not hard at all to avoid combat from PCs, as for pirate NPCs it would not be hard either, you would just have to warp away on occasion.

    i also have been looking for such a game, every other MMO i have played has been all about combat level

    loved runescape because your combat level wasent the determining factor as to what you could and couldnt do

    I've spent the last 3 months casually looking for a game like this.  According to what people have said, Ultima Online seems to be the closest match.  I haven't been able to try Ultima yet, but I really want to.  I'm playing WoW at the moment, but if a Runescape-like game, like what you're looking for is found, I'll be on it in a heartbeat.  RuneScape is the most in-depth game I've ever played.  Absolutely incredible.  It would be perfect, and dominate the MMO market if they took the ads of thier site, thier staff loosened up a bit, they stopped putting so much emphasis on bots, had better graphics, and were client based.  Anyway, if you find such a game, private message it to me please.  I will also look.

    What i think is that it is going to be very hard to find any game like runescape. Runescape is very different from other games let alone that it is a browser game. If anyone finds a game like runescape tell me. I actually really dont care about the graphics in RS but the staff at jagex id have to say is very poor and the players based economy is very poor. When you find a game just like this one with a better player based economy, better staff, maybe a little bit better graphics, and a nice community, give me an email.

    I would like to know a better game too because i've played RS for along time now and dont feel like paying anymore.

    WoW and Lineage 2 are suggestions. RuneScape graphics are a total joke, and I really can't see why people over 15 years are still playing it. For real money maybe? I don' t know. Anyway in games like WoW and Lineage 2 your strength and every other stat raises, when your level raises. So you don't have to train it one by one. I' m not saying that l2 and Wow are alot easier than RuneScape, cause they ain' t. Most children who have played RS went to WoW when they got older. WoW is a game full of attractions, totally different from Lineage 2. Lineage 2 is more hardcore, but very much fun... VERY MUCH fun at the higher levels. The max level in WoW is quite easy to reach compared to Lineage 2. These 2 games have a fee; Lineage 2 is about 14 euro 's per month, almost similar to WoW. I'd suggest WoW for more impatient people.

    I have played Lineage 2 for 2,5 years and it' s still one of the best MMO' s on the market in my opinion. The community is relatively big for it' s age. But still twice (or maybe three times smaller) than WoW. Lineage  2 has less servers, so more crowded places. I believe lineage has over 10k online at one server at a time, sometimes. Of course there are bots, but mainly in the beginning area' s. But it 's not to be compared with 1 or 2 years ago.. people are working on it. Or the community is just decreasing.

    Keep in mind that these two games are over 2 years old so you could also wait for some new games. I' m currently waiting for Aion to come out.. it looks quite awesome so. Anyways, good luck finding a suitable MMO. Best regards,
