i 100% agree with Tanr jumping in combat must stop. in real life jumping like that in combat 1. Drains your stam like theres no tomar 2. dose not help 3. and it looks retarted. circleing your enemies dose help but needs to be done right no sprinting around them. a more slow combat ready movement. WOW messed things up BAD. and as far as the jumping to dodge attacks goes they could just add a Dodge dive skill with a recharge time so in certain times when dodgeing is needed u can.
PVP games that use jumping in a negative way really piss me off. Take half life for example, what the heck is going on there? Everyone is all hopping around like mad. Could anyone just stop that and actually hide behind corners and stuff like you clearly should?

I can only hope that AoC does away with that. The most realistic way that I could imagine would solve this is to cause delays when jumping and using abilities. As people have mentioned, jumping around hitting attack buttons wouldn't allow you to actually do anything offensive, which I suppose would be the only real purpose of jumping in combat, a defensive action (depends on what you're doing). From the videos it SEEMS like it'll work in a different way, jumping doesn't seem so insanely 'hop hop lively' as other games. Let's see how it works out.
I'd prefer real epic battles such as the one they show in one video where people are not hopping around.
If you was fighting say with swords against someone in real life, it would be more realistic to sidestep then jump up though as a dodge manouever I think they put the "double tap a key" in for side steping, but your right, we are just going to have to be patient and find out
I imagine that it'll be the shoulder buttons on a controller making is easy to almost constantly sidestep around and around and attack at the same time.
