I have GW Prophecies, is it worth buying both factions and nightfall?

Thanks for the help in advance

All three games were good in their own ways.

hehe, i have finished it allready with three characters, but that was like a year ago, im gonna go buy nightfall today and factions next month. I read that Nightfall has a long PvE campaign and that you get heroes, so im gonna go get it 1st

    Thanx for the insight

  • Well Guild wars original seems to fit most people the best. Guild wars factions is pretty nice....well, depends if your looking for things like more PVP. If so than you'll love it. Nightfall is real good, nice story and all. Kind of drifts off a bit from the other ones i think though. I would say, yes, its worth buying.

I've purchased the game twice now and both times I quit within a week. There's just something about it just doesn't make it appealing to me. Something about how immature most people are and how you run around the world by yourself.

This is a team based games, if your running around by yourself, your doing it wrong, or playing the game like a normal MMO and thats why your not enjoying it...  PM me in game, or on xfire and i'll show you why it is great and get you properly started

I got Prophecies when it first released.

I suggest finishing that if your new.

When I bought Nightfall, it came with a factions trial key.

Buy 1 and get the trial key to see if you like the other.

Remember the new expansion is also coming soon, and what I like the look of "Guild Wars 2"

This is a very well done game with a good company backing it. They have made a strong product for a good time now. I feel very comfortable with the state of this game.

I disagree. There is no right and wrong way to play your game in regards to teaming or not teaming.

Nightfall is a must if you solo because "Heroes" are a great way to not need to team.

I find I do better with my heroes then the average random team, but then again, I am from beta days and have lots of good gear to equip them with.

Ah a fellow beta player huh?  and your advocating solo play in a game ANet have always pushed towards team based and PvP competitive play?  oh well, if more people talk about GW like this, the player base will be totally dead by the time GW2 is released (and I'll lose a good chunk of my station listener base too, cheers)

and remember, you can only have 3 heroes per human player, ok, you can supplement the rest with henchies, but you know as well as i do that henchies are and will always be crap

oh and as you also should know, the game revolves around finding  a good guild aswell...  finding a good guild can turn GW from a good game, to a great near life changing experience (oh, and its making me money with my station too)

If you enjoyed Prophecies, then I definitely recommend picking up one of the next two campaigns.  Read over both of Factions and Nightfall, and see which interests you more.  For me, it was Factions.

MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan
