in Age of Conan: Unchained
Will they charge you a monthly fee before you get past level 20? Seems to me that since it will be all single player, they should not charge ou until you start playing the "online" part. Your thoughts?

    hmm i think it would be great if they didnt charge you until past lvl 20 because then it would give everyone a chance to try the game without making the game open to a bunch of nublets who like to run around and make people angry on trial accounts

    You seem to be mis-informed.

    Levels 1-20 are NOT offline, and they are not just single player.

    You will be playing online, and they are actually cycling it, so you will be multiplayer at night, and solo during the day cycle. (I may have those 2 reversed) This let's people who want to sink right in with other players the opportunity to do so, and allows people who want the extra time for solo play to have it.

    Funcom will charge You with monthly fee after level 20. We can play how much we want and pay nothing with all archetypes but only to level 20. I think this is state in official site. I don't know, if They change this decision.

    It has always been our intent to offer the single-player portion of the game without a subscription fee. This I believe to be the case even though the single-player portion of the game is no longer single-player limited and as stated previously is always online.

    Hehe, no worries, I try not to post something as fact until I see a dev post about it, otherwise, it's fairly worthless.

    No need to apologize that you did not keep updated, or that you did nothing but provide incorrect info, next time, please just make a little effort to get some facts before you put your foot in your mouth! It's better for everyone, and helps kill the inevitable rumors!

    And yes, I'm teasing because if ever there was a post with opinion that was 110% owned by a dev's reponse, hehe, yours was it!

    Night Tortage = Singleplayer



    All of them are played online and require you purchase the game.



    Up until level 20 however you will not likely have to have a subcription

    Nice to see you here, But im curious... will that work as the normal day cycle as in when its day its multi then when night strolls around its single, or do you goto the inn like i think i heard on the AoC forums and pick day or night for which one you want to do?

    It's the inn system. Enter a inn and do something (go to sleep?) and a load screen changes Tortuga from multiplayer to singleplayer, and reverse. I believe it actualy was posted somewhere here: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/134590
